Their role is to facilitate mindful walks and sensory activities in forests or natural environments, helping participants connect with nature for improved well-being. Guides are usually certified by professional organizations and are knowledgeable about safety, nature connection practices, and group facilitation. They do not provide therapy in the clinical sense but create supportive environments for relaxation and personal reflection. Managing these challenges involves thorough preparation, including scouting trails in advance, having backup plans for inclement weather, and developing strong communication skills to adapt activities for different group dynamics. Guides also benefit from ongoing professional development and peer support to stay up-to-date with best practices and enhance their ability to facilitate meaningful experiences in nature.
