Job description

About Us
Founded in 1959, Delaware Valley Floral Group (DVFG) has grown from a small family business into one of the nation's largest floral distribution companies. For more than six decades, we've delivered premium fresh flowers and floral supplies to retail florists, event designers, and supermarkets across the country.
We aim to be our customers' most valuable supplier - and we believe our employees are the key to making that happen.
About the Role
The Delivery Driver is responsible for safely and efficiently delivering fresh floral products and related supplies to customers throughout Virginia. This position plays a key role in ensuring our customers receive their products on time and in excellent condition while providing a high level of customer service.
What You'll Do
  • Safely operate a 16-foot refrigerated box truck while following company, safety, and DOT requirements.
  • Deliver fresh flowers and related products to customers throughout assigned Virginia routes, including the Norfolk, Williamsburg, Fredericksburg, Charlottesville, Richmond, Suffolk, and Lynchburg areas.
  • Ensure deliveries are completed accurately, efficiently, and on schedule.
  • Provide professional, courteous customer service and build positive relationships with customers.
  • Load and unload products safely using appropriate equipment and handling practices.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe delivery vehicle and report equipment or maintenance concerns.
  • Navigate assigned routes using maps, GPS, and other available tools to support efficient delivery.
  • Partner with the warehouse and distribution team to ensure products are properly prepared and delivered.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
This role requires the ability to work in a warehouse and refrigerated cooler environment (approximately 34°F) and to regularly stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb in and out of a truck, and sit for extended periods.
The position requires the ability to safely lift and move products weighing up to 60 pounds regularly, with or without reasonable accommodation. Employees may use pallet jacks, box cutters, RF scanners, and other equipment as part of their work.
Compensation & Benefits (What's in it for you)
The expected salary range for this position is listed above. Actual compensation will depend on skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
We also offer:
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) retirement plan with company match
  • Short- and long-term disability benefits, life insurance, and other supplemental benefit offerings
  • Flexible Spending Accounts
  • Paid time off, sick time, and paid holidays
  • Quarterly Safety Incentive Bonus - earn up to $1,500 per year

Other Information
  • Location: Richmond Distribution Team
  • Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturdays required
  • Start Time: 3:00 AM on Mondays; 3:30 AM Tuesday through Friday
  • End Time: Routes are completed upon finishing the assigned delivery route
  • Travel: Daily local and regional delivery throughout assigned Virginia territories
  • Work Arrangement: Onsite

What You'll Bring
  • 2+ years of professional experience driving commercial vehicles, such as 16-foot box trucks or larger
  • Valid driver's license and ability to obtain DOT Medical Certification; CDL is not required
  • Acceptable driving record, subject to periodic review
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Ability to safely lift and move up to 60 pounds regularly
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to use maps and GPS for route planning and navigation
  • Strong time management, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team
  • Dependable, safety-conscious, and committed to providing excellent customer service
