Job description

Overview

The Flood Insurance Specialist will play a critical role in servicing and processing transactions for the Bank's loans where flood coverage is required. The Specialist has contact with customers and frequent contact with other employees in all lines of business within the Bank.

What You'll Do
  • Responsible for assessing and validating Make, Increase, Renewal or Extension (MIRE) events in all lines of business for adequate flood insurance in accordance with the Flood Disaster Protection Act (FDPA)
  • Manages and completes flood due diligence items in a timely and accurate manner
  • Ensure data accuracy in system of record
  • Obtains and evaluates all relevant information used in completing Flood Zone Determinations
  • Calculates and determines adequate flood insurance coverage requirements
  • Acts as the main point of contact on flood insurance and coverage requirements
  • Ensure that loans and insurance comply with all flood related bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Communicate with lenders, credit partners, and clients to ensure coverage exists to protect the bank
  • Responsible for the tracking and daily monitoring of flood review process for all consumer, mortgage, and commercial loans
  • Provide on-going support to lending staff as needed for flood questions
  • Responsible for flood map changes, updates, and research
  • Take ownership of other duties as assigned
  • Participate in all required compliance training, as well as internal and external training programs, online training, meetings, or other education events as assigned by Loan Ops and Bank leadership
  • Adhere to Corporate and Loan Operations policies and procedures as prescribed
  • Exemplify behaviors in alignment with the bank's vision, mission, and culture; exhibit professionalism at all times
  • Provide world-class service to internal and external clients with a sense of urgency and positive attitude
  • Demonstrate exceptional organization and time management skills and ability to balance competing priorities to meet multiple deadlines
Requirements For Success
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience with retail and commercial lending regulations and policies; specifically flood insurance in accordance with the Flood Disaster Protection Act (FDPA)
  • 2 or more years' experience related to loan documentation, due diligence, and processing
  • Proficient knowledge of flood insurance requirements
  • Knowledge and understanding of loan documentation
Conditions of Employment
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background & credit check
  • This is a full-time, non-remote position
