POSITION OVERVIEW

This is a full time position eligible for benefits. The Industrial Painter / Powder Coater is responsible for preparing, coating, and finishing metal and manufactured components using powder coating and industrial painting techniques. This role ensures products meet quality, durability, and appearance standards while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

Painter Responsibilities

  • Prepare metal and fabricated surfaces for coating through cleaning, degreasing, sanding, grinding, masking, and abrasive blasting processes.
  • Apply powder coating finishes using electrostatic spray equipment and curing systems according to product specifications and quality standards.
  • Apply liquid coatings using conventional cup guns, airless spray systems, and pump-assisted spray equipment.
  • Perform painting and coating operations in confined spaces, tanks, vessels, structural components, and other restricted-access areas while following all applicable safety procedures and permit requirements.
  • Select, mix, and prepare coatings, primers, and finishing materials according to manufacturer specifications and work instructions.
  • Monitor and adjust spray equipment settings to ensure proper coating thickness, coverage, adhesion, and finish quality.
  • Load, unload, rack, and stage parts for painting, powder coating, and curing operations.
  • Inspect completed work for defects, runs, sags, contamination, coverage issues, and overall finish quality.
  • Perform touch-up, repair, and rework of painted and powder-coated surfaces as required.
  • Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, coating specifications, and production schedules.
  • Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and material handling equipment as required and authorized.
  • Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and troubleshooting of spray guns, pumps, hoses, ovens, and coating equipment.
  • Maintain accurate production, inspection, and quality-control records.
  • Follow all safety procedures related to hazardous materials, respiratory protection, confined-space entry, fall protection, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while supporting production goals and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Must comply with hazardous materials and waste handling procedures.
  • May assist other crews as needed.

  • Powder Coating: 5 years (Preferred)
  • Heavy Equipment Operation: 1 year (Preferred)
  • High school or equivalent (Preferred)
