Job description

Overview

Apex - Field Technician

As the Field Technician, you will measure, install, and test products and provide customers with instructions on the proper usage of the product. He/She will have to travel to our customers' homes or businesses to perform repairs and routine maintenance. He/She should have excellent technical and mechanical skills and have experience with basic hand power, diagnostic tools, and should be physically fit to lift heavy equipment. As the Field Technician in a newly launched market, the candidate will be responsible for some administrative work.

Pay Rate: $27.00 - $29.00 per hour

Vehicle and Tool Allowance

Responsibilities
  • Conducting routine inspection and provide accurate measurements of doors and windows
  • Provide timely and quality repairs of customers' products including, but not limited to, screen installation, sash replacement, glass replacement, hardware replacement, and seal repairs
  • Provide accurate measurements of doors and windows
  • Coordinate required return visits; convey needed services, materials, and labor
  • Perform post-installation inspections
  • Anticipate obstacles that could impact customer expectations, job costs and/or code performance; recommend solutions
  • Promoting the company's services
  • Maintaining your technical and mechanical skills
  • Perform administrative tasks such as, but not limited to; scanning installer invoices into the system, scanning in copies of customer payments, mailing customer payments to the administrative team, ensuring installers are loaded up and headed to their daily job sites in a timely fashion, receiving materials and product shipments, etc.
Qualifications

EDUCATION

  • An Associate degree or technical certification in the industry.

EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience servicing windows and doors.
  • Previous experience in exterior replacement products.
  • Valid Driver's License and driving record acceptable to insurance company.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to work independently and as a team.
  • Managing overtime on service calls with patience and not rushing the job.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • The ability to diagnose and solve problems based on customers' non-technical descriptions.
  • Strong working knowledge of equipment and tools used in the industry.
  • Physical fitness to lift heavy equipment, work in confined spaces, and bend frequently.
  • Travel within radius of GDIs locations.
