Landscape Laborer/Driver

Company: Yard-Nique, Inc. – NC
Job Type: Full-Time

 Position Summary

The Landscape Laborer/Driver is responsible for performing landscape installation tasks safely and efficiently under the supervision of a Crew Leader. This role supports Yard-Nique’s commitment to high-quality workmanship and WOW customer service standards.

 Position Details
  • Schedule: Monday – Friday, starting at 7:00 AM (variable hours).

  • Overtime/Weekends: Occasional weekend work and overtime as needed.

  • Reports to: Crew Leader.

  • Travel: Daily travel to and from job sites in company vehicles.

  • Valid Driver’s License Required.

 Key Responsibilities
  • Follow instructions for landscape installation activities to complete projects in alignment with Yard-Nique quality and customer service standards.

  • Maintain safety and security for yourself, team members, and customers on all job sites.

  • Prioritize tasks effectively and follow direction from supervisors.

  • Apply planting and sodding knowledge to read landscape plans and properly install plants, trees, and sod using correct spacing and watering techniques.

  • Use grading knowledge to operate track loaders and perform basic equipment maintenance.

  • Assist with irrigation system evaluations and operation, as assigned.

  • Operate landscape equipment safely, including skid-steers, compact track trenchers, and excavators (preferred).

  • Communicate effectively with crew leaders, customers, and team members.

  • Build positive relationships with customers, supervisors, and coworkers.

 Skills & Qualifications
  • 1–2 years of landscaping or related experience required.

  • Basic knowledge of irrigation, grading, planting, and sod techniques.

  • Experience with landscape equipment (skid-steers, trenchers, excavators) preferred.

  • Irrigation knowledge/experience preferred.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • Valid driver’s license required.

 Minimum Requirements
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and supervisor instructions.

  • Ability to work all assigned hours in a standard workweek.

  • Reliable transportation to and from work.

  • Capable of performing physically demanding tasks in outdoor conditions.

 Work Environment
  • Outdoor work in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, dirt, water, chemicals, and noise.

 Physical Demands
  • Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, standing, squatting, and walking for extended periods.

  • Reaching overhead and using hands for tools and materials.

  • Lifting, pulling, and pushing equipment and materials.

  • Regularly lift/move up to 50 lbs; occasionally up to 75 lbs.
