How much do full time esd engineer jobs pay per year?

As of Jul 13, 2026, the average yearly pay for full time esd engineer in the United States is $111,632.00, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $80,500.00 and $132,500.00 per year, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What are some typical challenges faced by Full Time ESD Engineers in a manufacturing environment?

Full Time ESD Engineers often encounter challenges related to ensuring compliance with electrostatic discharge (ESD) control standards across the manufacturing floor. They must regularly educate and train staff to maintain proper ESD practices, troubleshoot ESD-related failures, and implement effective mitigation strategies. Additionally, staying current with evolving industry standards and integrating new materials or equipment into existing ESD programs can be demanding. Collaboration with production, quality assurance, and equipment maintenance teams is essential to address ESD risks and maintain consistent product quality.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Full Time ESD Engineer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Full Time ESD Engineer, you need expertise in electrical engineering principles, electrostatic discharge (ESD) control methods, and typically a relevant engineering degree. Familiarity with ESD testing equipment, industry standards like ANSI/ESD S20.20, and certifications such as Certified ESD Program Manager (CEPM) are highly valued. Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and effective communication skills help you identify risks and collaborate with cross-functional teams. These skills ensure the protection of sensitive electronic components, compliance with safety standards, and reduction of costly product failures.

What are Full Time ESD Engineers?

Full Time ESD Engineers are professionals who specialize in the prevention and control of electrostatic discharge (ESD) in manufacturing and electronic environments. Their main role is to design, implement, and maintain systems and protocols that protect sensitive electronic components from damage caused by static electricity. They often work full-time in industries like semiconductor manufacturing, electronics assembly, and aerospace. ESD Engineers are responsible for training staff, auditing facilities, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. Their work is critical for product reliability and safety.

What is the difference between Full Time Esd Engineer vs Full Time Electronics Test Engineer?

AspectFull Time Esd EngineerFull Time Electronics Test Engineer
CertificationsESD-specific certifications, such as ESD Association certificationsGeneral electronics testing certifications, like ISTQB or industry-specific training
Work EnvironmentCleanrooms, manufacturing floors, ESD-sensitive areasTest labs, production lines, electronics assembly areas
Industry UsageSemiconductor, electronics manufacturing, aerospaceConsumer electronics, automotive, industrial electronics

Full Time Esd Engineers focus on preventing electrostatic discharge damage through specialized testing and compliance in sensitive environments, while Full Time Electronics Test Engineers conduct broader testing of electronic devices for functionality and quality. Both roles require technical skills but differ in their specific focus and industry applications.

Job description

Ready to make connectivity from space universally accessible, secure and actionable? Then you've come to the right place!

E-Space is bridging Earth and space to enable hyper-scaled deployments of Internet of Things (IoT) solutions and services. We are building a highly-advanced low Earth orbit (LEO) space system that will fundamentally change the design, economics, manufacturing and service delivery associated with traditional satellite and terrestrial IoT systems.

We're intentional, we're unapologetically curious and we're 100% committed to innovate space-based communications and deliver actionable intelligence that will expand global economies, protect space and our planet and enhance our overall quality of life.

We are hiring Electrical Engineering Lab Technicians to support the hands-on build, test, and debug of satellite avionics hardware. You will work directly in the lab assembling prototype boards, performing rework, operating test equipment, building cable assemblies, and supporting engineers through the full hardware development and qualification cycle.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assemble and rework prototype PCBs including surface-mount, fine-pitch, and through-hole soldering.
  • Build cable and wire-harness assemblies including crimping, routing, strain-relief, and connectorization.
  • Operate electronic test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers) for board-level testing.
  • Support board bring-up activities by assisting engineers with lab setups, instrumentation, and measurements.
  • Perform board modifications (cut-and-jump, component replacement, rework) per engineering change orders.
  • Maintain lab equipment calibration schedules and ensure instrumentation is in working order.
  • Follow ESD-safe handling procedures and maintain ESD-controlled workspaces.
  • Create and maintain build documentation and assembly records.
  • Support environmental test preparation and execution (thermal, vibration, shock).
  • Assist with sub-contractor coordination for fabrication and assembly when required.
