Overview

About the Role

Develops and manages complex projects. Oversees the planning, development, implementation,and support of hospital information systems. Supervises analyst/project staff. Develops testing strategies according to system build and downstream system requirements. Oversees and assists the hospital with the development of a training plan. Ensures that systems are implemented and functioning under the guidance of acceptable University policies and procedures and meet all regulatory requirements

Responsibilities

What You'll Do

    • Develops and manages complex projects.
    • Recommends resource planning and support needs to ensure successful project implementation.
    • Oversees the design and development of application programs from analysis to implementation and assists with these duties as needed.
    • Coordinates the installation of software and/or hardware. Works in concert with other HST/IS&T Departments pertaining to the planning and implementation of systems to ensure that HST/IS&T standards are met.
    • Interacts with end users, vendors and other related participants to ensure proper testing, implementation and utilization of systems.
    • Provides input to the formulation of departmental policies and procedures.
    • Oversees the development and maintenance of policies and procedures related to implementing and supporting systems.
    • Develops and manages program to deliver effective training to the user community and enhance proper system usage by users.
    • Participates on specific committees. Leads and/or participates on project committees.
    • Manages documentation and communication for problem determination and resolution.
    • Ensures system compliance with all regulatory agencies as appropriate.
Qualifications

What You'll Bring

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree with preference for Hospital Administration, a health-related discipline (Nursing, Pharmacy, etc.), Computer Science, Business Administration, Liberal Arts, Science, or related field.
  • Five (5) years of experience in information systems with preference given to candidates within a hospital environment.
  • Must complete certification on an Epic application specified by management within 6 months of training.
  • Ability to develop and manage complex project work plans.
  • Demonstrates interpersonal skills working in a service-oriented environment.
  • Excellent oral and written skills.
  • Capable of functioning in a team environment.
  • Equivalent education experience and/or training may be substituted for the degree requirements.
  • Additional relevant experience, systems or clinical work may be substituted for information systems experience

Preferred:

  • Prior Epic experience is highly desirable.
  • Direct experience with electronic medical records is a plus.
  • Management or supervisory experience is preferred

Compensation

The expected salary range for this position is SS/32S - Min-$105,701; Mid-$129,808; Max-$153,918 per year, in accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Law; final compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
