Environmental Staff Scientist – Environmental Consulting & Remediation

We are hiring for multiple locations. Must be able to commute to one of the following offices:

Location: Jacksonville Beach, FL | Full-Time | Environmental Consulting & Remediation
Location: Tampa, FL | Full-Time | Environmental Consulting & Remediation

Earth Systems LLC is seeking an experienced Environmental Staff Scientist to oversee environmental remediation, site assessments, and regulatory compliance projects throughout the state of Florida. This is an excellent opportunity for an environmental scientist with a strong background in environmental consulting to gain experience with high-profile projects for diverse clients in retail petroleum, oil & gas, government, insurance, commercial, and industrial sectors.

Key Responsibilities
• Construction Activities - Excavation oversight, Drilling and monitor well installation, and storage tank closures.
• Technical Execution – Perform groundwater and soil sampling, environmental site assessments, site reclamation activities, aquifer studies, remediation system installation and oversight, geotechnical investigations, and operations & maintenance (O&M).
• Regulatory Compliance – Working knowledge with environmental site assessments (ASTM 1527-13 and/or 40 CFR Part 312)

Qualifications & Skills
• Education – Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or related discipline.
• Experience – 0-3+ years in environmental science within consulting, engineering or remediation.
• Proficiency - Competent in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and ability to work with computerized database searches.
• Technical Knowledge – Proficiency in environmental site assessments, remediation technologies, Phase I/II ESAs, hydrogeology, compliance auditing.
• Certifications – OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER (required), Asbestos/Lead/Mold Certifications, CPR certification, valid driver’s license.
• Physical Requirement – Physical ability to work in the field under all weather conditions, climb ladders, stairs and walk on a variety of terrain.
• Other Requirements – Ability to travel for field work and participate in on-call emergency response rotation.
