Job description

Punahou School is currently seeking a Visual Production Center (VPC) technician who is responsible for processing, printing, copy reproduction and digital conversion work requests. The VPC Technician must be able to work independently managing request priorities as well as timely pick-up and delivery of work orders and confidential documents such as curricular exams. This position requires learning the proper use and safe operation of a variety of automated and manual production tools and machines. Primary duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Provides duplication and scanning services. Processes VPC copy and scanning request work orders and manages VPC print queues efficiently, accurately, and timely.
  • Ensures timely delivery of VPC products and pick-ups of VPC work orders to/from various locations throughout campus; ensures secure pick up, completion and timely delivery of curricular exams.
  • Provides scanning services to faculty and staff with proper document preparation, data entry, and indexing into the school's Document Management System.
  • Provides finishing services for work orders such as: cutting, drilling, binding, padding, folding, stapled booklet making, scanning and envelope addressing of printed materials.
  • Provides form creation services using current school applications and tools.
  • Processes requests for paper supplies on campus.
  • Monitors paper, copier and other supply inventory and informs VPC Manager when materials require re-ordering; maintains and organizes the Supply Room; ensures current and ample stock of supplies in the Duplication Center. Manages and archives paper and electronic work request forms.
  • Provides consultation services to faculty/staff, students, and volunteers for various duplication center projects and/or operation of VPC equipment, as appropriate.
  • Ensures optimum operation of VPC equipment by providing preventive maintenance and placing service calls when needed.
  • Process monthly VPC billing charges to Business Office on a timely basis
  • Is informed of copyright legislation and warns potential violators.
Position Details:
  • Department: Visual Production Center
  • School Year: 2026-2027
  • Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, occasional after-hours/weekend work as needed, Schedule may vary based on operational needs
  • Minimum Hourly Rate*: $20.00/Hour - Compensation is commensurate with qualifications.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of training, education and/or experience.
  • Valid Hawaii Driver's License.
  • Two (2) years working in a high-volume office environment, using standard equipment such as copiers, scanner, printers, and computers.
  • Proficiency with using Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, Webex, Microsoft Teams. Working knowledge of relational databases and student information systems.
  • Must have flexible thinking and problem solving skills.
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
