Job Description

As a member of AECOM’s Landscape practice, you will support a range of types and scales of projects, including streetscapes, community parks, renewable energy, transport and infrastructure, urban regeneration and environmental enhancement schemes. These projects offer the opportunity to work in small, medium and large multi-disciplinary teams, influencing design from an early stage and shaping the landscape on a broad scale, while supporting our progress towards our team’s commitment to being leaders in green infrastructure and delivering wider environmental and social benefits.

Job Responsibilities:

Applicants should be able to demonstrate a good level of technical expertise in order to be able to carry out the following job/project tasks:

Supporting the team

  • Working collaboratively with colleagues from landscape architecture, planning, architecture and all engineering disciplines
  • Ensures that the given jobs are completed on time and comply with the client’s requirements. 
  • Requires minimal instruction on daily work and general instructions on new assignments, commensurate with the level of complexity required to complete the assignment. 
  • Communicates with clarity and purpose. Listens and learns from others.
  • Operates with the highest standards of quality and integrity. 
  • Supports colleagues and works across team boundaries to deliver.
  • Proactively looks for opportunities to add value and produce high-quality work.
  • Makes safety a priority.

Helping Deliver Strong Technical Solutions

  • Performs basic to intermediately complex drafting assignments that requires a high degree of attention to detail, accuracy, and alignment with AECOM and client CAD standards. Software platforms require proficiency in Autodesk CAD, LandFX, Revit and Civil 3D.
  • Follows specific, standardized procedures to achieve set results and deadlines for drafting assignments.
  • Assists with coordinating landscape specifications
  • Develops and distributes prints and exports for team coordination & final drawing deliverables.
  • Performs QA & QC on discipline drawings.

Delivering BIM and 3D integration

  • Translating initial design concepts into increasingly detailed 3D models to support the progression of the project. Fluency between 2D, 3D and BIM software platforms is a skill that will be increasingly developed through every day collaboration.
  • Assisting in terrain modelling that align with AECOM Canada’s BIM and 3D standards for architecture. This will include developing technical skill in Civil 3D, Revit and other tools within the Autodesk platform to enable cross-disciplinary coordination and clash detection.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Will be completing or have completed their Bachelors or Masters in Landscape Architecture or related post-secondary program +2  years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency Landscape Architectural design.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in 2D and 3D software tools necessary to complete the work identified in the Job Summary above. Please list current software tools and level of proficiency in your CV or portfolio.
  • Excellent skills in creative problem solving and conceptual design.
  • Visual + graphics communications skills in 2D and 3D.
  • Experience working as part of a diverse team through prior education and work experiences.
