Job description

The Assistant Project Manager is an entry level position and will work with the construction team including the project managers, estimator, vendors, subcontractors, and accounting team. The APA’s job is to assist the Project Management team on a daily basis with various tasks ensuring that all paperwork, reporting and inquires/RFP’s/RFI’s are managed.


Responsibilities & Duties:

· Draft effective project scopes.

· Identify subcontractors and generate interest in project.

· Identify and contact vendors to price materials and equipment.

· Tabulate material/subcontractor pricing and present to PM Team.

· Daily material and equipment tracking.

· Maintain Safety Plan, SDS Binder, etc.

· Maintain job files.

· Maintain daily activity reports from subcontractors and onsite help.

· Maintain thorough understanding of contract documents, subcontracts and leases.

· Ensure company procedures and standards are maintained.

· Ability to communicate effectively with various team members with not only construction but also mall management.

· Willingness to travel to job sites with PM Team (out of town projects).

Requirements:

· BS / BA in Construction Management, Accounting, Economics, Finance, or equivalent technical degree is desired.

· Ability to work autonomously, e.g., making rational decisions while working at a job site.

· Problem solver, multitasker, results driven.

· Willingness to learn.

· Excellent time management and organizational skills.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills.

· Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office – especially Excel.
