dot.LA is the premier source of news and information for the Los Angeles technology and startup community. Launched in January 2020, we've quickly built a sizable audience and become an influential news source for Southern California's tech scene.
Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Entertainment Reporter to cover the intersection of Hollywood and technology. Southern California is home to a new wave of technology and talent that's upending the industry's paradigms and driving an economy of interconnected creative professionals.
The successful candidate will be a creative, curious reporter who can tap into the people and companies behind this wave from influencers to engineers to streaming executives.
The right candidate will have experience covering the industry and knowledge of its major players. We're looking for someone who can feel comfortable telling the stories behind the industry's biggest deals, spotting trends and spinning out fun and in-depth profiles and features.
This beat is key to our editorial operation and will help drive the overall tone of dot.LA. The right candidate should be an enthusiastic team player. We are especially interested in individuals who are thinking about how to tell stories in multiple formats.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5-7 years of experience as a reporter, preferably covering Hollywood, tech, and/or business
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Proven experience building, maintaining, and engaging an active audience
  • Proven experience building and maintaining a strong source base

JOB DETAILS
This is a full-time position with benefits, working remotely for the time being but will be based in Los Angeles. Pay is competitive and commensurate with experience.
