ANCC Magnet designated UPMC Passavant is currently hiring a Full-Time Endoscopy Tech to support our GI Lab at the McCandless location.

Shift Details:

  • Monday-Friday
  • 8-hour shifts with variable start time between 6am and 8:30am
  • On call required
  • Shift and scheduling details will be further discussed during the interview


Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and care for all endoscopic equipment used in the GI Lab.
  • Ensure equipment is functioning properly prior to use.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of equipment operation and troubleshooting.
  • Provide backup support to Equipment Reprocessors as needed.
  • Maintain inventory, rotate stock, and restock procedure rooms.
  • Reorder supplies or notify the appropriate individual when replenishment is needed.
  • Return unused supplies and reusable equipment to designated storage areas.
  • Assist with specimen collection, labeling, documentation, and transport.
  • Consistently support coworkers and foster teamwork.
  • Promote effective communication and maintain a collaborative work environment.
  • Welcome and encourage constructive feedback.
  • Take responsibility for professional development.
  • Attend and review relevant departmental in-service programs.
  • Actively participate in GI Lab staff meetings and unit-based performance improvement initiatives.
  • Perform secretarial duties as needed.
  • Participate in self-evaluations as requested by the department manager.
  • Prepare procedure rooms with the appropriate endoscopes, equipment, and instruments.
  • Anticipate physician needs and required resources during procedures.
  • Demonstrate competency in all assigned skills and responsibilities.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Previous employment or training as an Endoscopy Technician, Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, Surgical Tech, or other medical specialty such as Central Service Technician preferred.
    Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Act 34
