Job description

The Permanente Medical Group, Inc. is looking for a maxillofacial surgeon that is interested in joining a busy purely hospital-based practice at a level II trauma center. The surgeon will be based out of the South Sacramento Kaiser facility and will be joining The Permanente Medical Group in the division of maxillofacial surgery within the department of head and neck surgery. The scope of practice is orthognathic, pathology, trauma, TMJ and reconstructive surgeries. This is a high-volume surgical practice with a unique collaborative environment that provides ample opportunities to expand your practice that can be professionally fulfilling. We are also an integral teaching hospital and have full-time MFS residents. Kaiser is an HMO that allows the surgeon to focus on providing the best patient care without having to worry about billing responsibilities or running an office.

Aside from the robust Maxillofacial Surgery services, the Head and Neck Surgery department provides a full range of services including general otolaryngology, laryngology/voice, otology/neurotology, endocrine surgery, sleep surgery, rhinology, and head and neck oncologic surgery. We work closely with our colleagues in neurosurgery, thoracic and vascular surgery, plastic surgery, endocrine, and sleep medicine. Our medical center enjoys a strong affiliation with the University of California at Davis, serving as a teaching hospital for residents in many specialties, including HNS. We are also affiliated with several other residency training programs in HNS, MFS, and Emergency Medicine and are involved with medical student teaching through California Northstate University.

The Kaiser Health Plan is the largest and most experienced integrated health-care system in the country. Established almost 80 years ago, our program has received national awards of excellence and continues to serve as a health-care leader and the model for health care reform nationally, as well as internationally. The Permanente Medical Group, Inc. is a physician owned and managed multispecialty group associated with Kaiser Health Plan. With close to 11,000 physicians in Northern California, 22 medical centers, and covering over 4.6 million members, it is the largest and most successful medical group in the United States. We offer a very competitive salary, flexible schedules, and an outstanding benefits and retirement package. Please go to our website at http://physiciancareers.kp.org for more information.
