Overview
The Senior Security and Emergency Management Consultant will be a trusted member of a growing team responsible for supporting our government and commercial sector clients in assessing, recommending, and implementing security approaches, developing/carrying out emergency operations and response plans, training and exercising, and assisting in coordinating multi-party security and emergency management functions across blue sky, special event, and incident conditions. This position will require a well-rounded physical and operational security background, as well as emergency management experience and will involve coordinating multiple tasks and parties in complex organizations. The ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, prioritize tasks, and deliver on tight timelines is essential. This is a senior-level position.
This position is based on-site in Boston 3-4 days a week.
TRC Security and Emergency Management Services helps its clients assess and plan for current threats and hazards while accounting for possible future concerns to create and sustain a security program that is robust, viable, and adapts as required to changing conditions over time. Our services include:

Responsibilities
  • Conduct security assessments and develop comprehensive security plans, policies, and procedures, often in collaboration with other team members and clients.
  • Work with the various law enforcement and regulatory agencies as required.
  • Synthesize and analyze human-induced threat and natural hazard data.
  • Author reports, technical memos, and other deliverables.
  • Develop presentations and deliver training content at client locations.
  • Interact with a diverse set of clients including government agency personnel, public officials, business, and nonprofit staff.
  • Develop/update multi-hazard emergency management plans.
  • Develop and deliver trainings on security and emergency response topics.
  • Facilitate planning and operational meetings for large projects and client initiatives.
  • Support EOC operations as needed for large-scale events and incidents.
  • Travel throughout the U.S. (travel estimated at 10-20% of the year).

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in security or emergency management, systems engineering, international relations, homeland security, or other applicable field.
  • Fifteen (15) or more years of related/relevant experience.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Excellent technical writing skills.
  • Familiarity with electronic security and emergency management system platforms/technologies (video, access controls, mass notification, etc.).
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a larger team to support business objectives.
  • Work closely with government emergency management, law enforcement, and security agencies.
  • Ability to travel periodically to meet client and project needs.
  • Ability to work in commercial and industrial settings and follow strict safety protocols.
  • Fluent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Ability to pass multiple detailed background checks (including criminal history) and drug screening
  • US Citizen, with current driver's license and ability to travel by air, bus, train, etc.
  • Proficiency with standard MS Office tools, laptop computers, and/or related tools.
  • The ability to occasionally walk and/or stand for extended periods of time, often in outdoor environments.
  • Basic business acumen and the ability to understand and support client relationships.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bi- or multi-lingual skills are a plus
  • Master's degree is a plus
  • Certifications such as Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or Physical Security Professional (PSP) via ASIS International, CEM, CEDP, HSEEP, CPTED, PMP, or other related areas are a plus.
  • Knowledge of ISC and FEMA assessment methodologies
  • Knowledge of security requirements for various sectors of critical infrastructure are valued.

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.
Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
