The Role:

Maine Oxy is currently hiring a Full Time Class B CDL Route Driver with Hazmat Endorsement to serve our customers in the Milford, MA area.

In this role, youโ€™ll operate a 20-ton delivery truck transporting compressed gas cylinders, liquid cylinders, and welding supplies to customers along a scheduled route. This is a local position โ€” youโ€™ll be home daily.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections
  • Safely deliver and pick up compressed gas cylinders
  • Maintain Hazmat load manifests and delivery paperwork
  • Build strong customer relationships during deliveries
  • Monitor customer inventory levels to help prevent emergency deliveries
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and warehouse equipment
  • Follow DOT, OSHA, and company safety regulations
  • Maintain required CDL and Hazmat endorsements
  • Support other operational tasks as needed

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must possess a valid Class B Commercial Driver's License
  • Must possess a HazMat endorsement or be willing and able to achieve the endorsement within 60 days of hire.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Must meet all physical qualification standards imposed by regulation for drivers.
  • Strong verbal communication skills, self-starter, self-motivated, sense of urgency, well-organized, ability to achieve goals, and ability to focus and pay attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyze a customerโ€™s situation and help resolve customer problems.
  • Team player with a positive attitude.
  • No at-fault accidents or moving violations in the previous 3 years.
  • Ability to read and comprehend Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
  • Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Must be able to work overtime when necessary.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent Required.
  • 1 year of driving experience or driving school training in the past 4 years.
  • Class B CDL with HazMat endorsement & airbrakes (HazMat can be earned within 60 days of hire).
  • Industry and related product knowledge, as well as experience handling compressed gases, preferred.
  • Computer experience or basic knowledge of computer order entry system

  • Must be able to drive hazardous cargo for up to 8 hours; Frequent bending is also required
  • Frequent sitting and standing, walking, using hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; may stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to perform very heavy workโ€”routinely lift 25lbs to 75lbs, and occasionally lift 76lbs to greater than 100lbs.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in temperatures ranging from -10 to over 100 degrees.
  • Ability to smell/hear leaking gas from cylinders.
