Job description

Driver-In Shop

We are looking for the next ROCK STAR to join our family at Jimmy John's!!! Part-time positions are available in most locations. Delivery Drivers / In-Shops must understand the importance of the customer experience and understand that they are the "Face" of Jimmy John's. Real people serving awesome sandwiches to real people in 30 seconds or less, and deliveries in under 10 minutes!!!

Jimmy John's Delivery Driver's goal is to get that sandwich in the customer's hand as quick as can be. We do this by learning the most efficient route, double checking orders to ensure everything is accounted for, and hustling on our feet (while always being safe and law abiding while on the street). Drivers take home cash everyday.

While not on the road, Drivers work as In shoppers and are compensated accordingly. Delivery is a customer service job, so following customer's request and doing it with a smile can lead to more successful days.

Starting wage of $10 per hour PLUS tips and mileage. Some employees earn as much as $15-20 per hour INCLUDING tips, mileage and hourly wage.

Essential Functions include:

  • Responsible for customer product and service standards
  • Foster an environment of team work
  • Responsible for delivering an exceptional customer and store experience
  • Greet and thank every customer with a smile and eye contact
  • Execute quality store operations
  • Clean store, small wares, merchandise and physical plant as necessary
  • Must be able to operate food preparation machinery
  • Adhere to all food, safety and security guidelines
  • Must be able to operate cash register and handle cash transactions while adhering to all cash handling policies

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age with a clean driving record
  • Computer skills including some Microsoft software and register skills
  • Must be able to lift 30-40 lbs. regularly throughout shifts
  • Ability to stand, bend, reach and scoop through-out assigned shift
  • Ability to be mobile in walk-in refrigerator and freezer with temperatures ranging from 40 F to -10 F

We slice our all-natural* meats and fresh veggies in-house every day. Our fresh-baked bread is made right here where you can see it, and our house-made tuna salad is fresh every day. The flavor of a ripe tomato, crisp shredded lettuce, combined with fresh-baked bread, fresh-sliced meat and real Hellmann's mayo - that's when the magic happens. Made with love every single day since 1983. That's Jimmy Fresh!
