Job description

Tired of listening to barking dogs all day? How about lifting heavy dogs for radiographs and treatments? Love cats? Well, you’re in luck!!  Cat's Corner Veterinary Hospital is seeking an experienced associate veterinarian to join our AAHA accredited, Fear Free Certified, feline-only practice in Oxford, CT. We are looking for a veterinarian who has experience providing clinical, surgical, and dental services to feline patients. The ideal candidate must be friendly, self-motivated, and be able to work independently, as well as collaborate with our team. They will provide compassionate care to our feline patients and our clients by providing them with the necessary information to allow them to make informed decisions about their cat's health and well being.

We are searching for a personable veterinarian who is enthusiastic about feline preventive care and client education. We feel that the biggest reason our clients are so compliant with our recommendations is because we take the time to explain the reasons behind them. Good client communication and bedside manner are a must. We strive to maintain a collaborative environment, conducive to learning, where our doctors can discuss cases among their colleagues and learn from each other. We are searching for an individual with a good sense of humor, good bedside manner, and the desire to be part of a continuously learning team.

Our Veterinary Practice:
We are a primary care facility with a strong focus on feline wellness, preventive care, and dentistry. We strive to provide a stress-free environment to our patients and their owners by practicing Fear Free techniques, and upholding AAHA standards.

Cat’s Corner Veterinary Hospital opened it’s doors in 2008 in Southford, CT. Since then, the practice has grown exponentially. So much so, that in 2017, Dr. Ball found it necessary to build a new hospital a few miles down the road in Oxford, CT that could provide us with the space we need to grow.

Our new state-of-the-art, AAHA accredited facility is very spacious, providing the veterinarians and staff with space to comfortably practice. With four exam rooms, a spacious treatment area with two exam tables and a tub sink, surgical suite, dental table with digital radiography, pharmacy, and Idexx in-house lab analyzers. The doctors have a separate office area with personal desks and computers.

Our large employee break area is furnished with multiple couches, a dining room table, bay windows, and a treadmill. The employees have a full kitchen to use as they wish to cook their meals in the oven, stove, or microwave. And let’s not forget the Ninja coffee station!

Our team:
Our team is comprised of talented credentialed technicians, veterinary assistants, and customer service representatives who all share our goal of working together to provide quality veterinary care to our patients. All staff regularly take continuing education courses and webinars to maintain AAHA standards and continuously improve our patient’s and client’s experience.

We are a fun bunch! Our past team gatherings have consisted of karaoke parties, paintball parties, and trivia nights. We have an ongoing list of team gathering ideas for the future that include murder mystery night, paint and sips, axe throwing, etc. Want to add some adventures to our list?

Employee Benefits: We believe in taking care of our employees as well as we take care of our clients. We provide:

  • Sign-on Bonus!!
  • Health/Dental Insurance Reimbursement
  • 401k matching
  • Paid Time Off
  • Continuing Education allowance
  • Uniform allowance
  • Monthly bonuses
  • Paid day off for your birthday
  • Pet Health Discounts
  • Flexible Schedule

We would love our new associate DVM to have experience, but we would also enjoy the opportunity to mentor a new graduate! Our DVM salary will commensurate with experience. Full-time and Part-time positions available.

We would love the chance to meet you, discuss our practice and mutual interests in detail! Please forward a resume and letter of interest to our practice manager, Linda McCarthy, at manager@catscornervet.com
