Alma Domestic Violence Foundation (www.almadvf.org) is a nationally recognized, human services organization committed to "Educate Empower and Celebrate survivors of domestic violence and help them achieve economic and self-sufficiency". Our vision is to aid in the eradication of domestic violence globally and enlighten the public about its effects. Founded in 2005, the foundation is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, and serves thousands of victims at 64 facilities across the state. Across the country, we support shelters and work with victims of domestic violence (women, men and children) currently residing in shelters and those in transition. Alma is a safe haven for all--ready to save and assist in the rebuilding process to ensure victims can be survivors.

What would you do as a Domestic Violence Case Manager

As a Domestic Violence Case Manager at Alma Domestic Violence Foundation, you will play a pivotal role in providing comprehensive case management services to individuals facing or suspected of domestic abuse. Your primary objective is to empower clients and families to achieve greater independence, dignity, and quality of life. This position requires a compassionate advocate who is passionate about giving a voice to victims, embodying Alma's core values. Key responsibilities include managing crisis calls, assessing immediate needs, and facilitating the development and evaluation of individualized treatment plans. You will monitor client progress, make necessary adjustments, and ensure compliance with federal and state guidelines.

Additionally, you will engage in advocacy efforts to connect clients with vital resources, while maintaining meticulous records and actively participating in meetings and training sessions. Your commitment to ethical practices and professional boundaries will be essential in fostering a safe and supportive environment for those you serve.

What you need to be successful

To succeed as a Domestic Violence Case Manager at the Alma Domestic Violence Foundation, candidates must possess a robust skill set and relevant experience. A Bachelorโ€™s degree in human services or a comparable mix of education and work experience is required, along with a minimum of three years of relevant work experience, ideally with at least two years in a domestic violence shelter or agency. Proficiency in case management systems and planning techniques is essential, complemented by a solid understanding of addiction and recovery processes, as well as the Continuum of Care for domestic violence.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills are critical for effectively connecting with clients and collaborating with various health and human service providers. Successful candidates should demonstrate exceptional organizational abilities, prioritizing multiple projects with minimal supervision. A creative mindset for suggesting improvements and recommendations, along with proficiency in MS Office applications, will further enhance effectiveness in this role.

Additionally, candidates must be insurable and have reliable transportation for work-related travel.
