We are seeking a ICT Disaster Response Specialist to join our Information Technology team in N. Wilkesboro, NC. Through humanitarian work, the goal and purpose of Samaritan's Purse are to help people in Jesus' name and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
In the role of ICT Disaster Response Specialist,you will have the opportunity to:
  • Maintain a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ.
  • Design and advance disaster response technology strategies by researching, evaluating, testing, and recommending innovative communications and ICT solutions for field operations.
  • Prepare staff and volunteers to use technology effectively during disaster response through hands-on training, guidance, and readiness exercises.
  • Manage disaster response ICT equipment readiness by maintaining pre-positioned inventory and coordinating the staging, kitting, and availability of technology and supplies for rapid deployment.
  • Serve as the primary ICT technical resource during disaster deployments, providing hands-on support and acting as the liaison between ICT and disaster response teams.
  • Support continuous improvement of disaster response capabilities by evaluating industry and NGO practices, contributing to field office projects, and providing technical and on-call support as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What are the qualifications?

As a qualified candidate, you will have the following skills and experience:
  • Four-year college degree or university program certificate in a related field, plus three (3) to five (5) years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of networking principles and infrastructure technologies, including the design, implementation, and support of DHCP, routing, switching, VLANs, and enterprise networking platforms such as Cisco Meraki and Ubiquiti UniFi.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of communication systems, including satellite-based technologies (VSAT and satellite phones) and radio communication systems, with experience supporting Motorola radio solutions preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of AC/DC electrical systems and infrastructure requirements necessary to support the deployment, operation, and maintenance of technology solutions in field environments.
  • 12 credit hours of college-level Biblical Studies (required); if not already completed, an opportunity to meet and complete the requirement is available upon hire.
