Overview

Join our dynamic team as a Heavy Equipment Field Mechanic/Operator, where your expertise will drive the maintenance, repair, and operation of a wide range of construction machinery. You will be instrumental in ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently while providing exceptional service to our clients. Pay starts at $27/HR+ depending on experience, performance, and attitude. A service truck and large specialty tools are provided but you must have a complete set of hand tools. Duties

  • Perform routine inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance on construction machinery.
  • Operate heavy equipment including excavators, dozers, rock trucks, skid steers, etc to support various project needs.
  • Diagnose electrical systems, hydraulics, transmissions, diesel engines, brakes, suspension systems, and HVAC components using schematics and diagnostic tools.
  • Conduct welding, fabrication, tire service, alignment checks, and air brake repairs to ensure optimal equipment performance.
  • Maintain detailed service records and documentation of repairs performed.
  • Assist with assembly and disassembly of heavy machinery components; utilize power tools and hand tools effectively.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a heavy equipment mechanic or service technician with dealership experience preferred.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge across construction machinery repair and maintenance, automotive diagnostics, and heavy equipment operation.
  • Skilled in electrical diagnostics, hydraulic troubleshooting, welding (including soldering), and fabricating repairs.
  • Ability to read schematics and technical manuals; familiarity with OEM parts and systems such as Caterpillar or similar brands.
  • Valid certification in diesel engine diagnostics, air brake systems, HVAC systems or equivalent is highly desirable.
  • Operate heavy equipment including excavators, dozers, rock trucks, and skid steers.
  • Capable of heavy lifting safely; proficient with vehicle maintenance including tire service and brake repair.
  • Posses a valid Class A CDL.
