Position Overview

Carilion Physical Therapy is seeking a dedicated and experienced Physical Therapist to join our dynamic team in Annandale, Virginia. This full-time role focuses on delivering exceptional rehabilitation services within a supportive environment, fostering recovery and enhancing the quality of life for our patients. The ideal candidate will have a passion for rehabilitation, a strong understanding of therapeutic practices, and a commitment to patient-centered care.

About the Organization

Carilion Physical Therapy is a renowned provider of rehabilitation services in the community, known for our compassionate approach and evidence-based therapies. Our facility is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and staffed by board-certified physical therapists who specialize in treating a diverse patient population. We strive to create a welcoming, supportive environment that facilitates healing and encourages collaboration among our staff members.

Work Environment

As a Physical Therapist at Carilion Physical Therapy, you will work onsite in a well-equipped rehabilitation center, providing hands-on care to patients in a structured yet collaborative setting. Our daily operations emphasize a supportive team culture where you will interact closely with other healthcare professionals, including occupational therapists, rehabilitation aides, and administrative staff. Your standard working hours will be Monday to Friday, from either 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM or from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, allowing for a balanced work life.

Key Responsibilities

As a member of our rehabilitation team, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting thorough evaluations of patients recovering from injuries, surgeries, or chronic conditions.
  • Developing individualized treatment plans that meet specific patient needs and therapeutic goals, employing techniques such as manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, and modalities.
  • Monitoring and documenting patient progress consistently to adjust treatment strategies accordingly.
  • Educating patients and their families on rehabilitation processes and the use of adaptive equipment to enhance home care.
  • Building strong therapeutic relationships with patients to encourage motivation and adherence to treatment regimens.
  • Collaborating effectively with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care and the achievement of optimal recovery outcomes.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your role will encompass treating a broad range of patients, from young children requiring developmental therapy to older adults recovering from surgery or managing chronic pain conditions. This diversity enables you to apply a wide array of therapeutic techniques while fostering meaningful patient-provider relationships that contribute to effective care.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:

  • A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited institution.
  • A current and valid state license in Physical Therapy.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in a clinical setting, with a strong focus on patient interaction and treatment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey complex information effectively to patients, families, and team members.
  • Proficiency in computer applications related to patient documentation and treatment planning.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment to cater to the changing needs of our patients.
Preferred Experience

While prior specific experience in a rehabilitation center is not mandatory, it is preferred. Candidates with backgrounds in diverse therapeutic environments or specialized training in advanced manual therapy techniques will be given preference.

Compensation and Benefits

This full-time position offers a competitive salary ranging from $90,000 to $110,000 annually, reflective of experience and qualifications. Additionally, we provide a comprehensive benefits package, including:

  • A generous sign-on bonus.
  • Flexible work schedule options to support work-life balance.
  • Mentorship programs specifically designed for new graduates to promote professional development.
  • Weekly pay via direct deposit for financial convenience.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance options.
  • State commuter benefits to assist with travel costs.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with discretionary employer matching.
  • Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) insurance.
