Job description

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY: Licensed Practical Nurse

FEHE Enterprise is seeking a Full-Time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide daytime nursing support for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities supporting patients within South Georgia areas.

LPN Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in accordance with physician orders, nursing standards, and organizational policies.
  • Administer medications and ensure accurate and timely medication documentation on MARs.
  • Perform wound care, skin assessments, vital sign monitoring, and other routine nursing procedures.
  • Administer tube feedings and monitor individuals receiving specialized nutritional support.
  • Assist with or oversee Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) as needed to support individual health and well-being.
  • Complete nursing assessments and document observations, concerns, and changes in condition appropriately.
  • Monitor the overall health status of individuals served and report significant findings to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
  • Coordinate and assist with scheduling and attending physician appointments as required.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with physicians, pharmacies, healthcare providers, guardians, and interdisciplinary team members regarding individual care needs and medication updates.
  • Oversee and support direct care staff and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) to ensure quality care and compliance with healthcare protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with DBHDD standards, infection control procedures, medication administration guidelines, and agency policies.
  • Perform additional nursing and related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Current Georgia Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license (required)
  • Valid Driver License
  • Experience in long-term care, developmental disabilities, or high-acuity residential settings preferred
  • Hands-on experience with wound care, G-Tubes, ostomy care, and chronic condition management strongly preferred
  • Strong assessment, documentation, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team
  • Basic computer proficiency (EMR, Microsoft Office, Google Suite)
