WMH Solutions is hiring an experienced Senior Field Service Technician to diagnose, maintain, and repair forklifts, heavy equipment, industrial equipment, and material handling systems throughout the Madison and Huntsville area.

This is a local, customer-facing field service role for a technician who can independently manage service calls, solve complex equipment problems, communicate professionally, and take ownership from diagnosis through completed repair.

You will receive a take-home service van, fuel card, paid travel time, diagnostic technology, OEM training, and the internal support needed to perform your best work.

Direct forklift experience is highly valued, but it is not the only path into this role. Experienced diesel, heavy equipment, construction equipment, agricultural equipment, fleet, automotive, military, and industrial maintenance technicians are encouraged to apply.

Why Experienced Technicians Choose WMH
Experienced technicians deserve more than a service truck and a list of calls.
At WMH Solutions, we provide the equipment, training, technology, and support needed to diagnose accurately, repair confidently, and serve customers professionally.
You can expect:
  •  Stable, year-round work
  •  Local field-service territory
  •  Paid drive and travel time
  •  Take-home van and fuel card
  •  OEM factory training
  •  Diagnostic tools and technical resources
  •  Clear technical and leadership career paths
  •  Support from service leadership, parts, and technical teams

You will service a variety of forklifts, warehouse equipment, and industrial material handling systems, including:
  •  Electric, LP gas, and diesel forklifts
  •  Reach trucks and order pickers
  •  Pallet jacks and warehouse equipment
  •  Industrial batteries and charging systems
  •  Hydraulic and mechanical systems
  •  Electrical and electronic systems
  •  Engines, drivetrains, steering, and braking systems

You will begin most days in your assigned service van and travel to customer locations throughout the Madison and Huntsville area.
You will diagnose equipment failures, complete scheduled maintenance and repairs, coordinate parts or technical support when needed, communicate findings to customers, and document completed service activity.
Your responsibilities will include:
  •  Diagnosing complex mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, engine, and powertrain problems
  •  Identifying root causes rather than only treating symptoms
  •  Performing repairs, preventive maintenance, safety inspections, and equipment evaluations
  •  Reading wiring diagrams, schematics, service manuals, and technical documentation
  •  Using meters, diagnostic software, and technical resources to troubleshoot equipment
  •  Verifying completed repairs and returning equipment safely to operation
  •  Managing service calls and priorities throughout your territory
  •  Documenting labor, travel, parts, findings, repairs, and recommendations
  •  Explaining equipment conditions and repair needs clearly to customers
  •  Coordinating with WMH service leadership, parts teams, and technical support
  •  Supporting developing technicians when appropriate
  •  Following WMH safety, service, and documentation standards

This role is best suited for an experienced technician who can work independently, manage customer relationships, and represent WMH Solutions professionally in the field.
You should be able to:
  •  Diagnose equipment problems with limited supervision
  •  Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, engine, or drivetrain systems
  •  Read schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical service information
  •  Manage field-service priorities responsibly
  •  Communicate clearly with customers and internal support teams
  •  Complete repairs safely and correctly
  •  Stay organized in a mobile service environment
  •  Take ownership of service calls from diagnosis through completion

Required Qualifications
  • Typically three to five or more years of professional experience repairing vehicles, machinery, forklifts, diesel equipment, heavy equipment, industrial equipment, or similar systems
  •  Demonstrated mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic ability
  •  Experience with hydraulic, electrical, engine, drivetrain, or related equipment systems
  •  Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, service manuals, and technical documentation
  •  Strong communication and customer-service skills
  •  Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  •  Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
  •  High school diploma or equivalent
  •  Ability to lift at least 50 pounds and work safely in industrial environments

  •  Forklift or material handling equipment repair
  •  OEM dealership or field-service experience
  •  Advanced electrical troubleshooting
  •  Diesel engine repair
  •  Battery-powered industrial equipment
  •  Diagnostic software or computerized service systems
  •  Mentoring or supporting developing technicians

That does not automatically disqualify you.
Your experience may transfer well if you have worked in:
  •  Diesel or heavy equipment repair
  •  Construction or agricultural equipment
  •  Automotive diagnostics
  •  Fleet maintenance
  •  Industrial or manufacturing maintenance
  •  Hydraulic or electro-mechanical repair
  •  Military vehicle or equipment maintenance

You will travel to customer locations in a company-provided service van and receive paid travel time.
  •  Technicians begin and end most workdays from home using their assigned take-home service van. Overnight travel is not normally required.

  •  Optional overtime and occasional weekend work may be available based on customer demand.

WMH Solutions provides opportunities to grow through OEM training, technical education, certifications, advanced diagnostic responsibility, mentoring, and leadership development.
Potential career paths may include:
  •  Senior or Master Technician
  •  Technical Trainer
  •  Product Support Specialist
  •  Service Supervisor
  •  Service Manager
  •  Branch or operational leadership
We want technicians to build careers here—not simply complete service calls.
