Job description

Data Quality Analyst - GenAI
Be part of something groundbreaking
At AIG, we are making long-term investments in a brand-new, innovative Generative AI team, designed to explore new possibilities for how artificial intelligence can be applied in insurance and beyond, and we need your help.
With the support and investment needed to explore new frontiers in generative AI, you'll be working alongside talented colleagues, innovating and leading projects that will transform how we manage risk and serve our customers.
This team is central to our vision of the future and the core of our business offering. We will incorporate best-in-class engineering and product management principles and your guidance and collaboration will be critical to its success. To rapidly advance and innovate, we need your skills and expertise to build world-class products. If you're excited by the opportunity to create meaningful impact at scale, we'd love to hear from you.
Who we are
As a world leader in commercial and personal insurance solutions operating in over 70 countries and jurisdictions, AIG's Global Business Operations & IT team identifies and drives high-quality innovation and cost efficiency in all our processes, systems and operations. The organization ensures we operate as one globally consistent business delivering end-to-end services locally that contribute to our customers' and AIG's success.
We are seeking a detail-oriented Data Quality Analyst to support a strategic data quality initiative. This role is embedded within a development team and is critical for proactively identifying and preventing data issues. By ensuring data meets business rules and quality expectations, you will help prevent project delays, increase user trust, and reduce costs, ensuring smoother deployments and better outcomes for both the development team and end-users.
How you will create an impact
As part of the Data Management and Governance team, the Data Quality Analyst will:
  • Conduct comprehensive data profiling on all source systems (e.g., Snowflake, Foundry, Excel) to identify data characteristics and anomalies.
  • Identify, analyze, and document patterns, inconsistencies, and rule violations within datasets.
  • Work closely with development and data quality teams to define, refine, and validate data rules.
  • Raise, track, and manage data issues that could impact application trust, scalability, or downstream processing.
  • Provide continuous feedback loops to the development team during the development lifecycle, surfacing defects early.
  • Collaborate with various Data Offices and Data Quality (DQ) teams to understand and apply existing business rules.
  • Ensure the consistency and integrity of data quality practices.
  • Contribute to long-term efforts in improving data quality and integrity across all systems.

What you'll need to succeed
  • Proven experience working with large datasets in platforms like Microsoft Excel, Snowflake, and Foundry.
  • Strong analytical mindset and an exceptional attention to detail.
  • The ability to "rip into a spreadsheet" to surface insights and discrepancies.
  • Experience in data profiling or data quality analysis is highly preferred.
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with developers, product leads, and business users.

Preferred Traits include
  • Curious and persistent in finding the "why" behind data inconsistencies.
  • A self-starter who enjoys solving data puzzles and embraces new challenges.
  • Capable of ramping up quickly on new systems and business domains.
  • Interested in making a strategic, long-term impact on the company's data assets.
