Job description

Overview

This is a remote role that may only be hired in the following locations: NC, SC 

The Enterprise Data Analyst serves as a key liaison between business and technology teams, providing analytical expertise, defining data requirements, and ensuring accuracy and consistency across General Bank. The role drives continuous improvement through data analysis, data profiling, data mapping, and validation to support reliable business insights and decision-making.


Responsibilities

Requirements Gathering & Business Systems Analysis

  • Collaborates with stakeholders to gather and document business and product requirements for data integration and reporting.
  • Performs data mapping between source and target systems to ensure alignment with business definitions.
  • Translates business needs into functional specifications for technology teams, ensuring that all requirements are testable and traceable.

Data Analysis & Enhancement

  • Conducts data analysis, data profiling, and data validation to ensure completeness, consistency, and integrity across data sources.
  • Supports data remediation and quality monitoring by partnering with Data Governance and Stewardship teams.

Stakeholder Collaboration & Liaison

  • Serves as a bridge between business users and IT, ensuring mutual understanding of objectives, timelines, and outcomes.
  • Coordinates across teams to clarify data logic, resolve issues, and validate business rules.

Testing & Validation

  • Supports User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for new data initiatives, validating that outputs meet business requirements.

Documentation & Governance

  • Creates and maintains technical documentation for General Bank data, including source-to-target mappings, data dictionaries, and lineage.
  • Ensures compliance with enterprise data governance, audit, and control standards.
  • Maintains detailed change tracking and impact analysis documentation for data related projects.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of experience in Data Management, Financial Analysis, or similar OR High School Diploma or GED and 6 years of experience in Data Management, Financial Analysis, or similar

Preferred Knowledge & Skills

  • Knowledge of data spreadsheets and databases
  • Understanding of data warehousing and transformation methods, lineage documentation, and ETL processes
  • Understanding of Base SAS programming, SAS Enterprise Guide, Cognos, or related programs, IBM InfoSphere Information Management suite or similar
