TheManager, Data Center Operations (DCM) is a critical operational role overseeing the day-to-day management of our Cal-3 data center. You will be responsible for leading a team of data center technicians, operators, and infrastructure managers to ensure that all tasks related to electrical, mechanical, security, fire life safety, and customer support are executed safely and efficiently. Quality control is key, and uptime is paramount.

The duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Lead and mentor a team of data center professionals to deliver world-class service.
  • Oversee daily operations, ensuring all aspects of electrical, mechanical, security, and fire safety systems run seamlessly.
  • Drive efficiency in customer installations, service requests, and remote hands support.
  • Manage and resolve technical and operational incidents, leading emergency response efforts when needed.
  • Develop, implement, and refine standard operating procedures (SOPs) and maintenance strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations while fostering a culture of safety and accountability.
  • Monitor and report site capacity metrics, ensuring scalability and long-term planning.
  • Support pre-sales efforts, including conducting customer site tours and responding to RFIs/RFPs.
  • Oversee OPEX & CAPEX budgets, ensuring smart investments and cost control.
  • Drive compliance with accreditation initiatives (SOC2, ISO 27001, etc.) and manage security personnel.

Experience & Skills:

  • 5+ years of leadership experience in data center operations, with a strong focus on mission-critical environments.
  • Experience in liquid cooling technology is a plus
  • Expertise in colocation operations, capacity planning, facility forecasting, and performance metrics.
  • Strong background in incident management, emergency response, and root cause analysis.
  • Experience with trouble ticketing systems, budget management (CAPEX/OPEX), and compliance programs.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels.

Education & Certifications (Preferred but Not Required):

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Industry certifications are a plus: 309-A, 313-A, ITIL, UTI, DCCA, etc.

Technical Expertise:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft & Google software suites (Visio is a plus!).
  • Strong knowledge of structured cabling, networking, and connectivity standards.
  • Experience with CMMS, DCIM, and power metering systems.
  • Understanding of industry data center standards, policies, and regulations, including Provincial Building Code, Canadian Electrical Code, and Fire Code

Working Conditions

  • The role has standard data center working conditions with time split between office and facility environments, with a regular workweek from Monday to Friday.
  • Due to the nature of the role, the incumbent must be able to meettight deadlines and manage competing priorities.
  • The role requires availability to respond to critical incidents off-hours.

Le poste de responsable des operations du centre de donnees est un poste operationnel essentiel charge de superviser la gestion quotidienne de notre centre de donnees CAL-3. Vous serez charge de diriger une equipe composee de techniciens, d'operateurs et de responsables d'infrastructure afin de garantir que toutes les taches liees aux systemes electriques, mecaniques, de securite, de protection contre les incendies et de securite des personnes, ainsi qu'au service client, soient executees de maniere sure et efficace.   • Experience dans le domaine du refroidissement par liquide est un atout
  • Expertise en exploitation de colocation, en planification des capacites, en prevision des besoins des installations et en indicateurs de performance.
  • Solide experience en gestion des incidents, en intervention d'urgence et en analyse des causes profondes.
  • Experience des systemes de gestion des tickets d'incident, de la gestion budgetaire (CAPEX/OPEX) et des programmes de conformite.
  • Excellentes competences en communication, tant a l'ecrit qu'a l'oral, avec la capacite d'interagir avec les parties prenantes a tous les niveaux.


Formation et certifications (appreciees mais non obligatoires) :

  • Licence en ingenierie, en informatique ou dans un domaine connexe.

Expertise technique :

  • Maitrise des suites logicielles Microsoft et Google (la maitrise de Visio est un atout !).
  • Solides connaissances en cablage structure, en reseaux et en normes de connectivite.
  • Experience avec les systemes CMMS, DCIM et de mesure de la consommation electrique.
  • Comprehension des normes, politiques et reglementations relatives aux centres de donnees, y compris le Code provincial du batiment, le Code canadien de l'electricite et le Code de prevention des incendies.


Conditions de travail

  • Ce poste s'accompagne des conditions de travail habituelles dans un centre de donnees, le temps de travail etant reparti entre le bureau et les locaux techniques, avec une semaine de travail classique dulundi au vendredi.
  • Compte tenu de la nature du poste, le titulaire doit etre capable de respecter des delais serres et de gerer des priorites concurrentes.
  • Le poste exige une disponibilite pour intervenir en cas d'incidents critiques en dehors des heures de travail.
