Title: Data Analytics Engineer

  • Investment Management or Asset Management experience recommended.
  • Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design, ontology and taxonomy design.
  • Intellectual curiosity, inclination for independent and self-directed work, and attention to detail.
  • Professional experience driving change, transformation, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Manage relationships with stakeholders and executive leadership to achieve business outcomes
  • Understanding of data security, cyber-security and PII management
  • Deep understanding of relational and NoSQL data stores, methods and approaches.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Manage relationships with all stakeholders, with a focus on setting expectations and maintaining ongoing client satisfaction through effective project management and a strong commitment to customer service.
  • Evangelize data strategist working through design, documentation, review and cross team negotiations to support strategic business and technology goals.
  • Displays thought leadership in pursuit of modern architecture principals and technology
  • Leads technology proof of concepts to ensure feasibility of architecture solutions.
  • Provides architecture direction for engineers in support of a technical pattern.
  • Drives continuous technology transformation to minimize technical debt. Continuously improve efficiency and effectiveness of the architecture.
  • Looks for opportunities to capitalize on technology advances through analysis of key industry and technology trends to assess potential impact on the enterprise.
  • Participates in defining target state technology architecture and roadmaps. Ensures alignment of IT initiatives with the target state.
  • Contribute to a fast-paced Agile team and participate in multiple aspects of planning, documentation, execution, testing and launch of projects
  • Interface with global teams to collaborative work on business deliveries.
  • Strong grasp of value creation and business capability models for large scale technology platforms.

Experience :

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline is required.
  • Seasoned expert with technical and business knowledge and functional expertise that has been developed over several years.
  • Experience in systems analysis and application program development.
  • Experience with project feasibility, definition requirements, design and/or project leadership.
  • Experience with various technical programming languages, and phase report studies is required.

Salary Range:

$114,500 - 194,700 USD

Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
