When will I work?

  • Primary Schedule 5/8s Evening Shift - The primary work hours for this position are 12:00pm to 8:30pm, Monday through Friday, with overtime required as needed. This schedule also includes a $2.00/Hr. shift increment.

Where is this opportunity located?

Position located in Sioux Falls, South Dakota in our Repair Center & Materials department.

What will the work look like for me?

  • Learn Daktronics products, systems, processes, and flow through Daktronics. This will include learning both the Service System Software and the Factory ERP System.
  • Pull parts to fill work orders. Flexibility to work in all manufacturing departments.
  • Must learn all Inventory tasks including receipt of customer parts, receipt of factory parts, staging of un-repaired items, staging of spare parts and repair parts inventory, material handling, material delivery routes, Pull/Pack/Ship processes for small orders, and Pull/Pack/Ship processes for freight.
  • Correctly follow written instructions. Accurately record work done.
  • Consistently complete quality work in a timely manner, including repetitive tasks. Learn new tasks and accurately perform these tasks as assigned.
  • Safely and responsibly use tools and adhere to safe lifting practices.
  • Perform other duties as needed to meet internal and external customer requests.
Qualifications

To be considered for Shipping/Receiving Clerk, we require the following:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Required to work overtime when overtime shifts are scheduled.
  • Regularly and reliably work the scheduled hours.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly and successfully participate as a member of a team.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Wear all proper protective equipment as required in work area in accordance with Daktronics Safety Policy and OSHA standards. Items may include safety glasses, safety shoes/boots, hearing protection, and electrostatic discharge wear. You will be provided with the PPE for the required areas.
  • Physical requirements include the ability to:
    • Work in an environment with these types of smells: paint, solvent, and solder.
    • Frequently lift 35 lbs. Occasionally to frequently lift 45 lbs., in some work areas.
    • Stand for the full shift with planned breaks. The duration of standing between breaks varies from 2-3 hours depending on work area.
    • Work from heights, including working from ladders and platforms.
    • Reach in all directions (up, down, side-to-side, and diagonal reaching), including some awkward reaching to insert components in difficult to reach sections of the product.
    • Maintain steady hand/eye coordination.
    • Identify wire and paint colors.
    • Read fine print.
  • Fluent in English, written and verbal.
  • Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Daktronics does not sponsor, renew, or extend immigration visas for this position.

Desired traits

  • Previous experience in receiving, warehouse, inventory, or materials management preferred but not required. The understanding of materials flow in a manufacturing environment also preferred but not required.
  • Basic computers skills preferred but not required.
