Summit Racing Equipment is currently looking to fill a CSS (Customer Service Specialist) position. Cashiers with a customer service representative background starting at $16.40 - $18.40 an hour! Successful applicants will have some previous retail/cash drawer experience and be comfortable talking with customers. Our store is open 7 days/week and the work shift will vary. A successful applicant must be able to work full-time 40 hours per week and have a flexible schedule, including evenings and at least 2 weekend days: Friday and/or Saturday and/or Sunday.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES for Cashiers include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Remains consistently friendly and courteous to all customers.

  • Computes or re-computes bill, itemized lists, and invoices showing amount due.

  • Makes change, accepts checks and credit cards, and issues receipts to customers.

  • Follows cashier's standards as written.

  • Records amounts received and prepares reports of transactions.

  • Reads and records totals shown on cash register tape and verifies against cash on hand.

  • Applies/processes cash refunds or issues credit memorandums to customers for returned merchandise.

  • Promotes Summit Speed Card and processes applications.

  • Balances cash drawer and completes closeout sheet each day.

  • Answers incoming telephone calls.

  • Assists with merchandising duties as needed.

  • General housekeeping as necessary.

  • Promotes in-store specials.

  • Talks with customers in person and assists customers in returning or exchanging products.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES for Customer Service Representatives include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Processes returns and completes paperwork for warranty returns when return specialist is not available.

  • Ensures retail location is clear of missing parts.

  • Stocks shelves and counters with merchandise.

  • Assists in setting up advertising displays or arranging merchandise on counters to promote sales.

  • Stamps, marks, or tags price on merchandise.

  • Obtains merchandise requested by the customer and places merchandise in a bag or box. Assist customers with carrying out larger items to their vehicle.

  • Answers customers' questions and offer assistance or direction.

  • Greets customers when they enter the store, and checks packages and receipts when exiting the store.

  • Computer proficiency a MUST

  • Can you work 40 hours per week?

  • Are you able to lift up to 50lbs?

  • Are you able to work a variety of schedules? 4/10hr days or 5/8hr days, which would include 2 weekend days.

  • Are you 18 years of age or older?

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); two to three years of recent experience as a cashier or in customer service.
