Shop Assistant (Custom Car Shop)

Big Shot Rides

Coconut Creek, FL • On-site

$15 - $17/hr

Full-time

Re-posted 24 days ago

Job description

Our installers should be installing — not running for parts. That's where you come in. Big Shot Rides needs a Shop Assistant who keeps the whole operation moving, and who wants to turn that into a real career in the custom car world.

About us:
Big Shot Rides is a custom vehicle shop in Coconut Creek (Broward County). We do vehicle wraps, paint protection film, ceramic coating, and custom wheel work — on everything from daily drivers to exotics to commercial fleets. We're a small, tight crew that built this business on referrals and repeat clients, which means the work has to be right every time.

About the role:
You're the person who keeps the shop running so the installs never stall: vehicles prepped and staged, parts where they need to be, bays clean, and every car documented from the moment it rolls in. Do this well and you won't stay "shop help" for long — this role is the front door to learning detailing, prep, and eventually film and wrap work.

What you'll do:
  • Prep and stage vehicles for wrap, PPF, and wheel jobs — washing, decontamination, moving cars in and out of bays.
  • Run parts pickups, deliveries, and shop errands around Broward.
  • Keep the shop clean, organized, and safe — bays, tools, and waste disposal.
  • Document vehicles at drop-off with detailed notes and photos.
  • Jump in wherever the day needs a hand.

What we're looking for:
Required:
  • Valid driver's license with a clean record (you'll be trusted with customer vehicles)
  • Reliable personal vehicle
  • Fluent English.
Nice to have:
  • Hands-on detailing experience.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge.
  • Social media skills — if you can shoot and post content of the builds, we'll put it to use.

Pay & schedule:
  • $15–$17/hour based on experience.
  • Full-time, Monday–Friday with occasional Saturdays.
  • Real growth path: raises and new skills as you earn your way onto the install side.

Straight talk:
This is a physical job in the South Florida heat. Some days are all errands, trash runs, and washing. If that sounds beneath you, this isn't your job. If it sounds like a foot in the door of the custom car world, we'd like to meet you.

How to apply:
Email your resume — or just a few lines on who you are and what you've done — to suzy@bigshotrides.com with "Shop Assistant" in the subject line.
