Job description

NaphCare is seeking an experienced and strategic Public Relations Manager to lead the organization’s external communications and media strategy. This role will be responsible for maintaining and protecting the company’s reputation, managing proactive media outreach, supporting executive communications, and elevating the visibility of NaphCare’s healthcare leadership across the correctional healthcare industry.

The ideal candidate is a skilled storyteller and relationship builder who understands how to translate complex healthcare topics into clear, compelling narratives for media, partners, and the public.


Media Relations & Publicity

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive media relations strategy to elevate the visibility of NaphCare and its subject matter experts.
  • Build and maintain relationships with healthcare, policy, and industry journalists.
  • Draft and distribute press releases, media advisories, statements, and talking points.
  • Pitch proactive stories highlighting innovation, patient care initiatives, partnerships, and industry leadership.
  • Coordinate media interviews and prepare executives with briefing materials and messaging.

Strategic Communications

  • Identify and develop newsworthy stories across the organization.
  • Partner with internal teams to communicate key company milestones, program launches, and facility partnerships.
  • Support corporate reputation management through thoughtful messaging and positioning.

Executive & Thought Leadership

  • Support leadership visibility through contributed articles, speaking opportunities, and media placements.
  • Develop executive messaging for industry events, interviews, and announcements.
  • Position NaphCare leaders as trusted voices in correctional healthcare

Issues & Crisis Communications

  • Assist in developing and maintaining crisis communication plans.
  • Provide guidance and messaging support during sensitive or high-visibility situations.
  • Monitor media coverage and public sentiment.

Content & Reporting

  • Write and edit high-quality external communications materials.
  • Track media coverage and measure PR performance metrics.
  • Provide regular reporting on media reach, sentiment, and impact.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or related field.
  • 5–8+ years of public relations or corporate communications experience.
  • Proven track record securing media coverage and managing press relationships.
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
  • Experience supporting executive communications and thought leadership initiatives.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong judgment when handling sensitive communications.

Preferred Experience

  • Healthcare, healthcare services, or regulated industry experience.
  • Experience with crisis or issues management.
  • Familiarity with healthcare policy, behavioral health, or correctional healthcare environments.
  • Media monitoring and PR analytics tools experience.
