Position Summary
The Site Supervisor - Commercial Construction is responsible for the overall management and oversight of on-site construction operations for assigned commercial projects. This role ensures that work is executed safely, efficiently, on schedule, within budget, and in strict accordance with contract documents and company standards. The Site Supervisor provides daily leadership to field personnel, coordinates subcontractor activities, enforces safety and quality standards, and serves as the primary on-site representative of Chinburg.
Primary Responsibilities
Site Leadership & Oversight
  • Direct and oversee all day-to-day field operations.
  • Plan, coordinate, and sequence work to maintain project schedule and productivity.
  • Supervise and direct on-site laborers and field staff; provide clear expectations and performance feedback.
  • Coordinate subcontractor activities to ensure alignment with project timelines and quality standards.
  • Lead regular site meetings and communicate project updates to Project Managers and stakeholders.

Safety & Compliance
  • Develop, implement, and maintain a site-specific safety plan in accordance with Chinburg policies, OSHA regulations, and all applicable federal, state, and local laws.
  • Enforce safety protocols for all employees, subcontractors, and visitors.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and proactively address hazards.
  • Ensure compliance documentation is current and properly maintained.

Quality Control & Execution
  • Review plans, specifications, and technical documents to ensure accurate execution of work.
  • Conduct routine inspections to verify workmanship and adherence to contract requirements.
  • Identify and resolve field issues, conflicts, and constructability concerns.
  • Develop and manage punch list processes through project closeout.

Project Coordination & Administration
  • Monitor project milestones and proactively address schedule risks.
  • Coordinate required inspections with regulatory agencies and third-party inspectors.
  • Oversee delivery, storage, and inventory control of materials and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate daily logs, site reports, and project documentation.

Site Management
  • Ensure site cleanliness, organization, and professionalism at all times.
  • Promote a respectful, collaborative, and productive work environment.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Demonstrated experience supervising commercial construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical drawings.
  • Effective leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Proficiency with construction management software and mobile reporting tools preferred.
  • OSHA certification (required or preferred based on regional standards).
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Education & Experience
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressive commercial construction experience, including field supervision responsibilities.
