Job description

Greenland Homes, an employee-owned residential home builder in the Des Moines area, and division of Absolute Group, is looking to bring on a full-time Construction Estimator.ย  As one of the area's largest builders we look forward to the addition of a talented member of our family.ย ย 
Principal Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct input and guidance on plan designs and modifications.
  • Become an active liaison for current vendor and trade relationships while cultivatingย positive and product new ones.
  • Adjust plan and option pricing due to changing circumstances or development requirements.
  • Input cost and product-specific information into builder's software system.
  • Update and issue work orders.
  • Coordinate with fun and productive outside staff to ensure clear communication and efficient builds.
  • Work with diligent and professional inside staff to monitor changing input costs and modify plans and options as needed.ย 
Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of new home construction processes, blueprintsย and materials.
  • Desire to fit into a humble group of blue-collar individuals focused on the current task at hand.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite software and strong computer skills
  • Ability to demonstrate positivity, confidence and respect in a team-oriented setting.
  • Knowledge of builder software, specifically MarkSystems, a plus.
  • Skill set to encourage common sense problem-solving and analytical results.
  • Ability to self-start, coordinate, share and finish in a dynamic career environment.
