About the Position:
Civil Engineering Technicians perform full time material testing and inspection on heavy commercial construction projects. Daily tasks can include sampling and testing of fresh concrete, compaction testing of soils and soil aggregates, reinforcing steel inspection for reinforced concrete structures, testing and inspection of spray applied fireproofing, observation and testing for shallow foundations, deep foundations, and ground improvement systems.
Our Civil Engineering Technicians work independently, coordinating inspection activities with project leadership and site personnel. Proper documentation and acute attention to detail helps keep projects on track, and provide assurance to owners and end users that the project was completed per design and specification requirements. Technicians must prioritize tasks and communicate observations and/or test results in a professional manner.
Previous experience is desired, but not required.
The Ideal Candidate Will Possess:
  • 0-3 years of related experience
  • Highschool Diploma (Or equivalent), or higher
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude
  • Must be organized and possess strong communication and professional writing skills ( will train)
  • Willingness to learn and obtain industry standard certifications
  • Ability to work within a team environment and relay accurate information quickly and efficiently
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Physical capabilities to stand for extended periods of time and a capability to lift 50lbs
  • Willingness to adapt to a flexible work schedule

Daily Responsibilities:
  • Receive the daily scheduled activities and arrive at the project site in a punctual and professional manner, with a positive attitude
  • Observe and document construction activities, ensuring all activities are performed in accordance with specifications and contract documents
  • Perform material sampling and testing, documenting results
  • Communicate clearly and effectively
  • Complete daily field reports in a timely manner with accurate information
