Job description

MFR Manufacturing specializes in the design, engineering, and production of architectural fence, railing and screen systems. We are looking for a full-time CAD Technician to produce shop drawings to be submitted to customers and utilized for our production process.

In-depth knowledge of AutoCAD and ability to read/interpret architectural drawings is required.

This is a full-time, day-shift, in-person (non-remote) position.

Typical Skills & Requirements

  • Understanding of construction/engineering/architectural drawings
  • Knowledge of the Steel Fabrication shop drawings process.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Dependability and reliability
  • Project-oriented: Ability to coordinate drafting schedule based on project priority and meet deadlines
  • Team-oriented: Cooperative, collaborative, and flexible
  • Professional correspondence (phone, email, etc)

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Creating 2D CAD drawings based on architectural drawings, standard details, specifications
  • Formatting drawings for production/fabrication use
  • Examining drawings to verify specification compliance with customer order
  • Working with our team to develop Bill of Material and related information
  • Consult with our team and others regarding design solutions
  • Other duties as assigned

Experience & Education

  • Fluent in use of AutoCAD (2D) is required. Experience in 3D CAD also beneficial.
  • Fluent English language is required.
  • Prior professional CAD experience is preferred.
  • Experience in architecture, manufacturing, and/or steel fabrication design is preferred.
  • Previous experience in construction/steel fabrication environments may be beneficial.
