Electrical BIM Technician / Electrical CAD Designer 

Location: Lyndhurst, NJ

Elite CAD Designs is seeking an experienced Electrical BIM Technician / CAD Designer to join our growing team. We are looking for an individual with strong electrical construction knowledge who can transform design intent into accurate, constructible models and installation drawings. 

This position is ideal for someone with commercial electrical installation experience, electrical drafting experience, or both. Electricians looking to transition from the field into an office environment are encouraged to apply. 

At Elite CAD Designs, we specialize in Building Information Modeling (BIM), MEP coordination, prefabrication drawing production, Reality Capture, laser scanning, and Digital Twin solutions for commercial construction projects throughout the United States. 

Responsibilities 

  • Produce detailed electrical shop drawings and installation drawings. 
  • Develop and maintain electrical BIM models using Revit and AutoCAD. 
  • Create coordinated 3D models for commercial construction projects. 
  • Participate in BIM coordination and clash detection with mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, structural, and architectural trades. 
  • Review engineering drawings and identify constructability issues before installation. 
  • Assist with prefabrication and fabrication drawing production. 
  • Coordinate with project managers, field personnel, contractors, and clients. 
  • Maintain organized project documentation and ensure drawing accuracy throughout project execution. 

Qualifications 

  • Commercial electrical installation experience and/or electrical drafting experience preferred. 
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents required. 
  • Strong understanding of commercial electrical systems required. 
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills. 
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment. 
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. 
  • Additional experience in Mechanical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, or other MEP trades is highly desirable. 
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification is a plus but not required.

Preferred 

Experience with one or more of the following: 

  • AutoCAD 
  • Revit 
  • AutoCAD MEP 
  • Navisworks 
  • Revisto 
  • Autodesk Forma 
  • Bluebeam
