Job description

Salary: $70k - $90k

The Systems Administrator is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and security of company intranets and computer systems. Duties include installing antivirus and malware protection software, responding to employee concerns, and drafting documentation to help employees use computer systems effectively. The Systems Engineer collaborates closely with other IT personnel to support company operations by installing, repairing, and updating computer software and hardware. This role requires strong technical knowledge, patience, and the ability to clearly communicate complex concepts to users of varying technical backgrounds.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Including but not limited to the list below.

  • Maintain working components through repair or replacement.
  • Assist with call-in or live chat support for technical difficulties.
  • Assist staff with hardware and software challenges.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
  • Set up new users and grant appropriate network access.
  • Manage and maintain network attached storage (Synology).
  • Deploy the latest security patches.
  • Manage technical documentation.
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with all colleagues.
  • Set up users in Active Directory and manage Group Policy.
  • Administer the Office 365 cloud environment, including Intune, Exchange, Azure AD, Teams, SharePoint, and Power Apps.
  • Support VMware ESXi servers.
  • Support RDSH (Microsoft RDP Remote App) environments.
  • Deploy mobile devices using Microsoft Intune.
  • Travel to various job sites to set up new technology and provide on-site support.
  • Work with networks, DNS, DHCP, and VLANs using Ubiquiti.
  • Patch printer, network, server, and desktop hardware and software as needed.
  • Set up and install printers.
  • Set up desk phones using FreePBX.
  • Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned by supervisors.


Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in a technology-related field, or 7 or more years of relevant experience.
  • Certifications relevant to job responsibilities are a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Linux, Windows Server 2019, Windows 11, VMware ESXi, Active Directory, and Office 365.
  • Ability to solve problems effectively in high-pressure or stressful situations.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to users with limited technical experience.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out the essential functions of the job.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Broad knowledge of business departments and their functions.
  • Working knowledge of data analysis and performance and operation metrics.

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to sit, type, and perform computer work for extended periods of time.
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers for computer entry.
  • Able to walk, lift, reach, stoop, stand, grasp, balance, climb, kneel, and crouch, and lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Able to work in outside environments being subjected to weather changes, noise, vibrations, moving mechanical parts, and job hazards.
