Full Time Warehouse Chemical Compounder 

 

Addison, Illinois August 2026
 
 A full-time position is available in our Addison, Illinois chemical blending plant for an organized, detail oriented, friendly, and adaptable individual.
 
 Work for a profitable and private 120-year-old, international water treatment chemical company that promotes from within. Garratt-Callahan www.garrattcallahan.com treats industrial boilers and cooling towers to keep them energy efficient and environmentally friendly. We are registered to ISO 9001:2015 and sell an industry leading line of “green" solutions, G-C GreenTech. 


The Illinois plant prepares and blends chemicals for our customers in the Midwest Region of the United States. 
 
The hours for the General Warehouse / Compounder position are Monday through Friday 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Salary is $28.00 to $30.00 per hour depending on experience. Benefits are available. Medical, dental, 401k.


Addison is a suburb of Chicago. Near Glendale Heights, Carol Stream, Lombard, Bloomingdale, Elmhurst & Glen Ellyn.
 
Duties and Requirements for the Warehouse Compounder position include the following:

  • The compounder is responsible for the production of liquid and dry materials into finished goods ready for distribution to our industrial customers.
  • Loads blending tanks with raw materials and blends material into finished product according to work orders.
  • General warehouse work, loading and unloading trucks, including moving totes, drums, and pallets.
  • General Maintenance work. 
  • Samples and tests finished blended product and records findings. Create work orders, SDS and labels according to ISO procedures.
  • Recognizes, applies and responds appropriately to chemical hazard information. Maintains current knowledge of the use and handling of all chemicals used in the facility.
  • Loads finished and tested product into properly labeled containers from blending tanks according to weight, making sure containers are properly sealed so they are leak free and leak proof and ready for shipment.
  • Places raw material into stocks, and maintains the raw material inventory.
  • Prepares and labels containers with up-to-date documents.
  • Must be able to safely operate and maintain a forklift and maintain forklift records and logbook.
  • Must be able to operate and calibrate equipment used in testing and weighing manufactured products and record findings into logbook.
  • Assists with projects and activities for shipping and receiving and with administrative tasks for the Plant. 
  • Must be forklift trained and certified.
  • Assists in investigations to resolve problems associated with shipping and receiving inquiries.
