Position Summary
Youngstown Community School is seeking a dependable and organized Cleaning Supervisor to support the safe, clean, and efficient operation of the school building. This position supervises the daily cleaning operations while assisting with custodial duties to ensure classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas remain sanitary and well maintained for students, staff, and visitors.
Position Overview
The Cleaning Supervisor coordinates nightly cleaning operations of the school facility. The role assigns duties to custodial staff, monitors completion of work, maintains cleaning supplies and equipment, and ensures high standards of sanitation and safety throughout the building.
Key Responsibilities
Follow all safety procedures for using equipment and chemicals.
Assist in nightly cleaning duties (sweep, dry mop, wet mop, remove scuffs from floors, sanitize sinks, clean desktops, dispose of garbage , etc).
Ensure that all surfaces in restrooms are sanitized and clean, including sinks, toilets, mirrors and floor.
Ensure all hallways, stairways are swept and cleaned nightly; designate cleaning areas for each member of the cleaning crew.
Ensure all door windows are cleaned nightly; windex front doors of main entrance, inside & out. Ensure all ledges are dusted and cleaned weekly; designate cleaning areas for each member of the cleaning crew.
Vacuum all carpets daily in areas designated by the cleaning supervisor.
Designate cleaning areas for each member of the cleaning crew to ensure duties above are completed.
Ensure all assigned duties of cleaning crew are carried out.
Maintain and control use of stock, equipment & consumables.
Check and maintain all equipment, with custodian, that require replacement items as needed.
Perform other duties assigned by the Director and/or School Business Administrator.
Perform additional duties assigned by the Superintendent or School Business Administrator.
Qualifications
• High School Diploma or equivalent. • Ability to work effectively with staff, students, and the public. • Strong attendance and reliability. • Ability to operate cleaning equipment. • Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds. • Successful completion of State and Federal background checks.

Superintendent and/or School Business Administrator
Evaluation
Performance will be evaluated annually according to school policy.
