Job Description Summary
The Cleaner will work under the supervision of the Custodial Manager or Supervisor and perform a variety of custodial duties for C&W Services. Such duties shall be in accordance with established standards, instructions, and procedures of C&W Services. This is a Full-Time union position, and the hourly rate is $ 28.75 The ideal candidate must meet have good communication skills, previous cleaning experience and be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Schedule: Monday, Thursday, Friday (11:00pm-7:00am), Saturday and Sunday (12:00am -8:00am).

TYPICAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Performs cleaning duties in all areas assigned
  • Ensures housekeeping company's standards are followed
  • Sweep, mop and wash floors, and other surfaces (inside buildings)
  • Floor caring (shampoo carpets and scrub/wash floors)
  • Sort materials, such as glass, paper or plastics, into appropriate containers for recycling.
  • Deposit recoverable materials into chutes or place materials on conveyor belts.
  • Clean recycling yard by sweeping, raking, picking up broken glass and loose paper debris, or moving barrels and bins
  • Vacuum rugs in bedrooms, offices and public areas. Spot clean daily and shampoo when directed rugs. Clean and dust furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, chairs, door trim, light fixtures, and all other horizontal surfaces including periodic high dusting.
  • Wash windowsills; glass in interior doors, partition, and specified windows.
  • Wash glass and trim at entrance doors, interior/exterior- Wash/spot clean interior walls as appropriate daily.
  • Clean bathrooms and restock paper supplies daily. Standard bathroom procedures are to damp wipe glass surfaces, empty waste baskets, service soap and toilet paper dispensers, dust sills, clean tile walls, shelves, stall partitions, sweep/mop/scrub floors, etc.
  • Reports possible necessary maintenance items/defects such as clogged urinals and lights out, and report to supervisors.
  • Collect building trash, recycling and compost. Daily placing it in approved container and place in designated collection area for subsequent removal.
  • Replace liners in waste baskets and trash containers per specs.
  • Perform periodic work: High dusting, cleaning stairs, kitchens and leather and wood surface, polishing, wall washing and other duties as assigned.
  • Snow removal
  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
  • Follow company's policies and procedures and safety/sanitation policies
  • Responsible for executing all campus event setups, including classrooms, conference rooms, and common areas.
  • Ensure all setups follow diagrams and required specifications (move chairs, tables and furniture).
  • Operate custodial equipment such as auto scrubbers, extractors and vacuums.
  • Perform floor care projects including stripping, waxing, and buffing floors.
  • Support deep cleaning and special cleaning projects.
