Job Description
The Center for Digital Innovation in Learning (CDIL) at Boston College is seeking an Instructional Media Producer to join our team.
The individual in this role collaborates with learning designers, subject matter experts, and other stakeholders to design and develop instructional media that supports in-person, hybrid, and online instruction, as well as special projects. Instructional Media Producers contribute both technical expertise and insight into how media can enhance teaching and learning.
Primary responsibilities include producing high-quality media to support instructor course goals, including audio and video production, photography, animation, and graphic design. The qualified applicant will demonstrate substantial skill in several of these digital media disciplines and the ability to fulfill production requirements on a demanding timeline that respects the academic calendar.
Instructional Media Producers also help establish and maintain quality standards, remain current on emerging trends and technologies in instructional media production, and recommend the adoption of new tools or methodologies to enhance content creation.
Title and salary commensurate with relevant experience based on the following titles and full-time equivalent hiring ranges:
- Senior Media Producer: $74,450 - $93,050; 5+ years related professional experience
- Media Producer: $67,350 - $84,200; 3-5 years related professional experience
- Associate Producer: $61,050 - $76,300; 1-3 years experience
Requirements
All candidates must have excellent written and oral communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as a part of a team. Candidates must be familiar with and able to work on Mac platforms. Knowledge and experience with accessibility standards is required.
Qualified candidates for the Associate Instructional Media Producer role will have:
• 1-2 years of experience in videography, video editing, and/or motion graphics
• Excellent videography and video editing skills
• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite skills, including Adobe Premiere Pro
• Experience working on straightforward production projects from pre-production through delivery
Qualified candidates for the Instructional Media Producer role will have:
• 3-4 years of experience in videography, video editing, and/or motion graphics
• Excellent videography and video editing skills
• Strong Adobe Creative Suite skills, including Adobe Premiere Pro
• Experience working in a higher education or instructional media environment preferred
• Some experience collaborating directly with faculty or subject matter experts on media projects
• Experience leading straightforward production projects from pre-production through delivery
Qualified candidates for the Senior Instructional Media Producer role will have:
• 6+ years of experience in videography, video editing, and/or motion graphics
• Excellent videography and video editing skills
• Expert Adobe Creative Suite skills, including Adobe Premiere Pro
• Demonstrated experience working in a higher education or instructional media environment
• Proven ability to advise faculty and translate pedagogical goals into effective media strategies
• Experience leading complex, multi-stakeholder productions on demanding timelines
