Job description

Full-time Program Director

Hiring Bonus: $300

Location(s): Glankler Elementary School

Pay: $26-$27 per hour

Hours: Monday - Friday. Hours are 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM. No weekends!

Looking for a part-time leadership role that fits around the school day?

AlphaBEST Education provides extended day, summer, and enrichment programs that are designed to inspire and engage students while they discover and learn beyond the school day.

For those who have experience supporting students, the Site Director role offers the opportunity to lead a meaningful before and after school program that helps kids learn, grow, and thrive.

Requirements: Must be at least 21 years old and meet one of the following educational and experience tracks prior to employment:
Track 1: High School Diploma/GED & 15 Units

High school graduation or GED.
- Completion of 15 semester (or equivalent quarter) units at an accredited college or university, distributed as follows:
- 3 units in administration or staff relations.
- 12 units covering child/human growth and development, child/family/community, and program/curriculum.
- At least four years of teaching experience in a licensed child care center or comparable group program.
Track 2: Associate of Arts Degree
- AA degree from an accredited college or university with a major or emphasis in early childhood education or child development.
- 3 semester units must be in administration or staff relations.
- At least two years of teaching experience in a licensed child care center or comparable group program.
Track 3: Bachelor's Degree
- BA/BS degree from an accredited college or university with a major or emphasis in early childhood education or child development.
- 3 semester units must be in administration or staff relations.
- At least one year of teaching experience in a licensed child care center or comparable group program.
Track 4: Credentialing Permit
- A Child Development Site Supervisor Permit or a Child Development Program Director Permit issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.

In this role, you will:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the site: schedules, ratios, staffing, and documentation
  • Oversee/facilitate curriculum implementation and ensure activities meet program expectations
  • Build a safe and inclusive environment aligned with licensing requirements and AlphaBEST standards
  • Make child safety the top priority at all times
  • Maintain licensing compliance, documentation, and readiness for inspections
  • Track and manage site resources, attendance, and food program requirements
  • Supervise and mentor your site team, providing coaching and feedback and ensuring training requirements are met
  • Represent AlphaBEST with professionalism at school and community events
  • Build strong relationships with families, school staff, and AlphaBEST leadership to support student success
