Key Responsibilities
  • Perform initial client assessments to determine mental health and substance abuse needs, establishing a baseline for tailored treatment.
  • Design, implement, and regularly evaluate individualized treatment plans based on the unique circumstances and goals of each client.
  • Facilitate individual therapy sessions, group therapy discussions, and family counseling sessions, employing evidence-based therapeutic techniques, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
  • Keep meticulous and timely documentation in our electronic health record (EHR) system, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Engage in collaborative case reviews and treatment planning meetings with our interdisciplinary team to enhance overall client care.
  • Provide crisis intervention to clients in distress, utilizing de-escalation techniques and immediate support strategies.
  • Stay abreast of developments in the mental health and substance abuse sectors by participating in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
Patient Population / Client Focus

As a mental health counselor at Central Valley Counseling Center, you will primarily work with a diverse population of adults and adolescents struggling with a wide range of issues, such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use disorders. Our clients come from various backgrounds, and you will be tasked with addressing both their mental health needs and aiding in their overall recovery journey. Qualifications
