How much do full time catalysis jobs pay per year?

As of Sep 13, 2026, the average yearly pay for full time catalysis in the United States is $154,846.00, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $122,500.00 and $184,000.00 per year, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What is the difference between Full Time Catalysis vs Full Time Chemist?

AspectFull Time CatalysisFull Time Chemist
Required CredentialsBachelor's or Master's in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field; experience in catalysisBachelor's or Master's in Chemistry or related field; general chemistry knowledge
Work EnvironmentLaboratories, research facilities, industrial plantsLaboratories, research centers, manufacturing settings
Industry UsageSpecialized in catalysis processes, petrochemicals, environmental applicationsBroader chemistry roles across various industries
Common Search/ComparisonYesYes

Full Time Catalysis roles focus specifically on developing and optimizing catalytic processes, often requiring specialized knowledge in catalysis chemistry. Full Time Chemist positions cover a wider range of chemistry tasks across multiple industries. While both roles require a chemistry background, catalysis positions demand additional expertise in catalytic reactions and processes.
