Description
A Senior Business Analyst utilizes a combination of business acumen and analytical skills to provide consultative support and great customer experience on multiple projects. The Senior Business Analyst responsibilities include understanding the customer's needs, communicating the needs, collaborating with internal and external technical staff in the delivery of solutions, performing quality assurance activities, training, and implementation coordination. Additionally, the Senior Business Analyst I may take on project management responsibilities such as planning, executing, and closing projects, managing project timelines, resources, and budgets, and ensuring that project objectives are met. This role will be key to understanding and documenting technology capabilities needed to address business challenges.
Roles and Responsibilities/ Essential Functions:
  • Proactively meet with customers to understand their business needs and project goals.
  • Identify, create, and facilitate process design changes by conducting business and systems process analysis and design.
  • Gather business requirements, conduct needs assessments and develop functional specifications to ensure that developed information technology solutions support business objectives.
  • Strong ability to lead customers through the requirements process with multiple techniques including decomposition, prototyping, current state / target state mapping, and other techniques.
  • Strong experience in creating documentation such as statements of work, business requirements documents, user stories, process flow diagrams, and project plans to confirm and align on business requirements with the customer.
  • Communicate requirements to the development teams through the use of specifications, user stories, statements of work, or other forms of documentation.
  • Lead test strategy including developing test plan, test cases and test execution. Prepare training materials and provide training to customers and project team members.
  • Strong ability to manage and organize multiple projects at once ensuring timely completion of projects assigned.
  • Lead initial scoping, proposals, and coordination of resources during the presales cycle.
  • Act as a customer engagement manager with emphasis on delivering agreed scope on time, on budget while providing an outstanding customer experience.
  • Lead the presales process by gathering high-level requirements, writing statements of work and facilitating estimates.
  • When applicable, lead small to medium projects
  • Plan, execute, and close projects, ensuring that project objectives are met.
  • Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets.
  • Coordinate and lead project teams to deliver successful outcomes.
  • Monitor project progress and adjust as necessary to ensure successful project completion.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders.
  • Utilize HBS' project tools and standards for project execution.
  • Actively participate in professional communities, community forums, groups related to technology solution(s) supported by HBS.
  • Work in multiple industries, functional areas, and business processes to build customer knowledge and credibility.
  • Actively participate in the continued review and update of HBS' standard methodologies to gain efficiencies and improve communications both within HBS and with HBS' customers.
  • On occasion, travel up to 25% of your time, may be required to service customers.
  • Meet annual billable hour goal, as defined by HBS. This number may change over time as the business evolves.

Requirements
How to qualify:
  • 6+ years of experience performing software analysis and requirements gathering.
  • 6+ years of experience implementing both custom and off-the-shelf business systems.
  • 6+ years of experience in User Experience and Usability.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Business Analytics or Business Administration
  • Strong skills with Microsoft Office 365 products including (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Project).
  • Strong soft skills that demonstrate leadership and emotional intelligence for managing difficult conversations, conflict management, problem solving, and managing complex teams.
  • Strong project management with the ability to successfully manage multiple tasks at any given point, strong relationship building skills and communication skills.
  • Maintain an outcome focused mindset
