Position Title: Bus Driver    

THE RIDLEY DIFFERENCE

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operate the bus in a safe and effective manner in order to minimize the risk of injury, property damage or loss of life;
  • Follow all relevant legislation, policies and procedures;
  • Perform safety and maintenance checks of the bus pre-trip and post-trip;
  • Advise the Transportation Coordinator of any requirements for maintenance or repairs;
  • Pick up and deliver students as per a set schedule;
  • Ensure students are aware of rules and responsibilities as passengers;
  • Make note of any behavioural or disciplinary issues;
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

     Meet the minimum age requirements to hold a school bus driver's license in the province of Ontario;

     Hold a class B license;

     Must hold a valid (non-probationary) driver's license for Ontario;

     Possess a very good driving record;

     Must undergo pre-employment drug testing with satisfactory results and comply with our random drug check policy for student safety;

     Must be safety-minded, courteous and able to demonstrate an appreciation of the importance of customer service;

     Must enjoy driving and working with children.
