The AUKUS, Submarines, and Industrial Base Group (ASIG), within the Sea, Land, Air Division, provides timely, objective, analytic assessments that integrate technical, operational, programmatic, policy and business analysis to Director Submarine Program directorates and key stakeholders surrounding submarine platform construction.ย  Director Submarine Program unifies submarine platform procurement activities, which includes the Columbia-class SSBN program (a Major Defense Acquisition Program and the Navy's top acquisition priority), the Virginia-class SSN program, the new SSN-X program (developing the next generation attack submarine), and the AUKUS Integration and Acquisition Office, to bring improved capabilities to our undersea forces.ย  Analysts and Engineers supporting Director Submarine Program will continue SPA's decades of support to the SSBN force, as well as supporting oversight of cutting-edge attack submarine construction, assisting in developing the design requirements for the SSN platform of the future, and helping plan and execute new and innovative strategies to strengthen the critical submarine shipbuilding industrial base. These are high-profile, major acquisition and manufacturing programs of significant importance to the future capabilities of the US Navy in an era of renewed strategic competition.ย 

Responsibilities

Your role will be to 1) Develop, shape, and smooth analysis, papers and presentations in support of Flag-level policy decisions, 2) Develop expertise in assigned areas through completion of assigned training, written research, and interviews with subject matter experts, 3)ย Maintain status, drive progress and provide frequent updates on all assigned tasks, 4)ย Communicate clearly and concisely across a wide range of products including e-mail, after-action reports, policy or other structured papers, data analytics, and flag-level briefings, 5)ย Organize and support virtual and in-person meetings where much of our difficult trilateral coordination is accomplished, 6)ย Exercise project leadership. Design, plan, organize deliverables, and ensure that strategic intent of all assigned projects is met, 7) Motivate, mentor and lead purpose-built teams across functional, organization and international boundaries to accomplish objectives, and 8) Build new relationships as necessary.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and 5+ years' experience with the US Navy.
  • Experience in using Microsoft Office, including Word and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written, verbal communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Able to effectively manage time and collaborate across a diverse set of group/division priorities.
  • Knowledge of developing briefs and reports for project leadership team review.
  • Secret clearance and the ability to maintain it throughout employment.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with TYCOM staff or other Navy staff highly preferred.
  • Experience with US Navy Submarine Community.
  • Experience working with international partners.
