Job description


The American Angus Association is seeking qualified applicants for a Member Services Representative in its St. Joseph, MO office. Member Services Representatives are responsible for providing world-class customer service and support to the Association’s members and breeders. This role is important to the success of the Association as it entails regular member communication and processing records for the most extensive single breed database in the world.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Effectively communicate with internal and external customers via telephone, email, fax and Message Center.
  • Assist breeders with data submission and herd management using tools provided by the Association.
  • Provide information and solutions to member inquiries as they pertain to their membership account, recent orders, Association policies and more.
  • Efficiently process member requests such as, registrations, transfers, corrections, performance data, and membership updates.
  • Develop an understanding of Association programs, products, and services, as well as beef cattle terminology.
  • Provide back-up support to other internal teams, as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent customer service skills, including the ability to listen.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and execute multiple activities simultaneously.
  • Ability to solve problems and retain information.
  • Ability to maintain a high-level of accuracy while performing tasks in an appropriate time frame.
  • Must be comfortable in an office environment, utilizing computers and phone systems.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Must be reliable and dependable.
  • A positive attitude and a willingness to learn is a must.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Associates degree in Business or Agricultural Science, or equivalent work experience.
  • Two years of customer service experience is preferred.
  • An agricultural background is a plus but is not required.
